MacAllister, Caiceido, Estupian and Mitoma combined cost = 1 Kurt Zouma

All could have been bought with the profit they made on the sale of Cucurella with £30m left over.

Not to mention the profit on Bissouma... or the profit on Potter

Evan Ferguson picked out at 16 having played only a handful of games in Ireland. He chose them because he had faith in their academy to first team pathway.

The Brighton that used to beat us had Glenn Murray and Neil Maupay upfront. This is a different beast altogether and we are years behind

Looking back, this belongs on here -

The wheels really came off when Moyes hooked Benrahma and stuck Fornals out wide. That's a shocking decision in the light of both experience and logic; it certainly seems like an act of sabotage that significantly reduced our already limited capacity to get into a match in which Brighton were rampant.

Sullivan is a blight on the land and Moyes is the rotten fruit.

If you believe what we saw Saturday was our players 'doing their best' then you have your head up your backside, fella. I am quite sure they want rid of Moyes just as much as we do. Let's stop discussing it, eh, because you clearly do not grasp what is going on, both at the club and on the pitch. Be lucky. CHL

Player and manager ratings for yesterday are easy. That said, the manager has chosen to spend 200 million to create a team that is pedestrian and cannot pass and control a football very well. He and Nevin don’t know how to coach a team to keep the football but even if they did our lack of pace would still be a big problem.

Watched Brighton win every second ball and easily outpace the likes of Soucek, Johnson, Oggy and even Rice.

Only Cornet can move at speed and he won’t be fit until it’s too late

Playing football is Rice and any other footballers job. Playing well/being good at your job engineers progressing in your career. It’s well within his interests to perform well on all accounts including financially.

The squad is performing sub standard apart from say Benrahma.

A new manager is the most likely way the teams performances will improve including Rices.

I understood fully what you were saying and I still think it’s a silly conspiracy.

Spot on sir

The squad /Moyes has assembled ( I use that word loosely ) is a reflection of the man and his coaching team and tactics. Past it, slow and a disjointed mess

Looking for the bright side, as is my annoying tendency, I see absolutely no scope now for any talk of Moyes having "money in the bank" to tide him through a "rough patch". The dearth in quality on the pitch was too glaring; Brighton ran rings around us as we had absolutely no answer to their flow and rhythm. We were static, cowed and deteriorated alarmingly after the break and substitutions; exactly the moments when you'd expect any effective manager to show their value.

Moyes is gone and it's now a question of how much damage this Board is ready to preside over before they pull the trigger. I think it will be after the Thursday tie.

I wouldn't worry about pundits defending Moyes, we've had more than enough of our own fans defending the useless cunt.

I do think it's mostly fans that don't like in this country though. They don't have the ballache of paying to watch us over that cunt hole of a stadium.

I wonder if that routine where Johnson is stood doing nothing and lets the bloke get in behind him and chest it in is on Nolan's tablet? Some fat, forty something, local league right back could do better than that!

Lineker, Murphy and Shearer are just fucking crap and offer no insightful analysis, just the tired old, careful what you wish for, short memories bollocks. These would be the pundits who would say Brighton were wrong in sacking Houghton or Burnley getting rid of Dyche or what a great appointment for WBA getting BFS!

Has anyone checked on pdcwhu to see if he's ok, this result will hit hard in his love for Moyes and Sullivan

At least Roy Keane called it honestly on Wednesday when he described our second half defending as shocking and useless , and could see us in the championship if we keep playing like that. Ian Wright thought it was harsh.
It was the fucking truth.

Not going to bang on about the game as there really isnt anything to say that hasnt been said, more abiut the reaction.

Lads, dont let this clusterfuck dominate your mood. I have a great Mrs, kids and grandkids. They all deserve more than watching me sulking all weekend over a bunch if people who dont care half as much as the fans.

This disnt come from a point of not caring. Iv'e done the not missing a home game fir 10 seasons, going to Sunderland on a weeknight then to work after a couple if hours kip. Spent money going everywhere so my commitment over the years has never been in doubt. Until now. The players, manager and owners will probably have a very plesant Sunday, I'll be fucked if i'm going to let them ruin any more of mine.

Have a good day all.

Why are we always so pathetic against Brighton. Under Houghton ,potter and now Zerbi we somehow look worse than ever. Why Brighton the defensive direct Houghton or the now really nice football they play now we are utter shite. Yesterday was without one of the worst performances in a long while ,why is it always this lot since they've been promoted. We kept them up one year

Pundits and ex-professionals I would think go back a long way with our Manager no doubt swapping Xmas cards and spending time with each other families even.
So I think naturally and just being human they would ease up on him which is not right if your suppose to give a football related comment on him.

All Pundits and them two on MOTD would have said it was time was up if it was any younger manager or foreigner.

We are being shitted on from a great great height .

Them who were calling for his head on here last year were right .

If we had allowed Dec to put a £70M escape clause into a new pay deal for him, do you think he'd still be here now?

The less we are willing to accept, the more options he will have on the table. Don't get to thinking he's some sort of fool just because he can play the 'nice guy' card so well.

pundits and ex-professionals generally hang back in condemnation, maybe out of some respect or to appear objective and yes have always seem expectant that Moyes will turn it around.

Not yesterday though, comments like 'never seen a game as one sided as this' are very telling.
