Hello you grumpy farts.

My good pal Chis have again taken time out to answer a few questions before the huge game this Sunday. Many thanks Chris always gives some good answers.

1. How do you feel your season has start, and what to you expect to achieve?
Not great, I have concerns about us as an attacking unit, Long has never been prolific, Redmond has never played as a striker, and Austin and Rodrguez have had their injury problems. Playing a new system hasn’t helped, however there have been some positive signs in the last week or so with the 3-0 win over Sparta Prague and the win vs Swansea which should have been 3 or 4.

2. Happy to be in the Europa or rather play on Saturdays? Personally I think its rubbish and was delighted we got knocked out…
Absolutely delighted, we had a great end to last season, winning 7 of our last 9 games, and got our reward when the draw was made. Looks like we’ll be taking 9,000 to the San Siro for a massive game and one of the biggest glamour ties in or history, and I cannot wait! Also a nice tie to have Prague too as it’s a great city to visit, can’t say I know an awful lot about Be’er Sheva!

3. Thoughts on West Hams start to the season?
Shocked me to be honest, thought you’d start considerably better. Thought you’d strengthened pretty well, and haven’t lost anyone, so was expecting a very strong start from you. Made a bit of a mess of the striker hunt this summer mind…

4. We’ve got Payet, who the hell have you got worth worrying about?
Tadic has started the season very well, but he picked up a knock against Swansea, hopefully he’ll be fit for the game. Redmond and Long will run and run, but not sure you should be too worried by either of them, especially if they’re 1 on 1! We do however have the best CB in the premier league in Virgil Van Dijk, sure he’ll leave next summer!

5. When you moved ground was there a situation like at our new ground? People wanting to stand with people wanting to sit down behind them, resulting in a punch up? New stewards being over the top etc?
Can’t say there was, the Northam end have always stood up, and don’t ever remember any problems. They made it pretty clear that we had a family stand one end, and the “singing” end the other. I guess your stadium is still finding it’s feet in terms of where the different peope are situated.

6. Who would you have in the Saints team from our team; you’re not allowed the whole squad?
Payet is obviously top drawer and would have to take him. I really like Lanzini and Cresswell, however not sure they would displace Tadic or Bertrand.

7. Do you get annoyed everyone classes you as little Southampton and just nicks your players? Or do you wish you’d stop selling players and give it a good go?
It is frustrating, but it’s all part of the business model. We probably wouldn’t sign these highly raated yougn players from the continent, if we didn’t sell them the fact they could be playinng for one of the top clubs in a few years. I expect the same thing will happen with Forster, Van Dijk, Hojbjerg and Boufal over the next few years.

8. What’s your favourite away game you’ve been too?
A choice of two….Wimbledon away in 1999, took 10,000 fans and was a must win, won 2-0 and Le Tissier scored from a corner. To contrast, the other was Brentford away in League 1, it was about 25 degrees in the sun, and a good boozy day out, getting a win on route to promotion.

9. Where do you think West Ham will finish, and also where will you finish?
I had West Ham down as “best of the rest” this season, so top 8, however the way they’ve started maybe slightly below that – should still be top half. Think we’ll be top of the bottom half. We don’t look as good as previous seasons, and the additional games in the Europa League will take their toll. Would love us to give the FA Cup a good go, along with the Europa League.

10. FA Cup winners or top 4?
Personally, FA Cup as it would be an amazing day out, but I can see why some fans would want top 4. Would be a good place to build on, and might be able to keep our best players and manager a bit longer!

11. Score prediction
Going to go for a 2-1 away win. Wouldn’t have been the case if I was writing this a week ago!

12. And last question favourite beer?
Not had it for a while, as nowhere near me sells it, however Kuppers Kolsch.

Nice one, young woody
Think Tadic is a very dangerous player so would be delighted if he was missing

Sounds like in their ground migration that they recognised how different people wanted to watch the game and tried to transfer their viewing habits into similar areas.
I think they will do ok this season but losing Mane, Wanyama and especially Koeman will stretch them.

Good read Woody, sounds like a proper fan of his team. Should have asked him what he'll be wearing though.
