Exactly how I saw each of those.

My concern is what players actually want to be at West Ham this season? Obviously the likes of Noble, Collins and Adrian seem 100% committed, although their performances haven't been up to scratch, and Lanzini came from loan to permanent so that suggests he was happy enough. Tomkins was West Ham through and through and Cresswell is committed enough but injured. But in my opinion you had Reid being unsettled some time ago, Payet I reckon wants to move on and I suspect that the likes of Zaza don't really want to be here. Ayew more than likely came for the money because he apparently snubbed us for Swansea originally and I suspect the likes of Antonio, Byram and Oxford are just fed up with being moved about or not being selected. So I can't see too many who are committed to the badge.

He wasn't to blame. He was never getting there. Antonio was ball watching and Bertrand was ten yards past him before Antonio realised. Njortvedt was caught in two minds as to whether to shut down guy with ball or go to Bertrand. He cose to shut down the ball and it was simply played to Bertrand. Not a lot you can do when you are caught two on one.

All in all though, It was a fucking shambles.

Norveit how ever you spell it just seemed to jog back for the first goal when he should have been sprinting .

Not sure what Byram has done but lets play a defender in a defensive position.

Lot of individual play . people trying to take on to many opposition team players and losing the ball.
Not sure if because they had no outlet even happen for second goal. Where we end up with three players round the ball and the opposition just seem more alert .
Reid , Noble and Kayoute . mess ...
The passing is accurate but its not being pinged about its more of a slow dribble of a pass that opposition can then pressure our players.

A lot of huff and puff no real direction on what we are doing .

There were a lot of players at fault On Sunday. Zaza doesnt get the service but does a lot of chasing down. Its harsh to say because he is out leading scorer but Antonio yesterday just does not track back and leaves our full backs exposed whichever side he plays on. Noble is not getting stuck in. His pass is exceptional. I do not know what some people see in Nordveit. He is a Championship player at best.

It will happen for us eventually. They have moved to a new ground and a new stadium so it cant be easy. At the new ground teams are going to come at us and we need to defend better. Sort out the defence first and keep clean sheets. From there everything else will follow. We will be fine.

Saw replays of the 'pens' later
The shot hit Bertrand's arm at 100mph as he turned away and the arm wasn't spread to block the ball : NO PEN
Zaza running away from goal and clipped ... defender got the ball and Zaza dived : NO PEN

Was one in the first half where Zaza was crowded out and the defender bundled him over a bit : Would have been soft and not for the likes of us. Maybe if we were Man City or playing in red at Anfield

What is Bilic saying at half time?. I thought I'd see a reaction second half yesterday but we got worse. We are having poor halves and poorer halves this season.

Just watched back the goals, the attitude absolutely fucking stinks.

Captain especially, for their second goal, pitiful

Couldnt believe it Sven, he literally walked over with his head down then 5 mins later Reid got the ball opened up to play to the right back and Antonio was beyond Fegouli !

5 mins after that he was over in the LW position jogging back. It was as if he thought 'I cant play well here otherwise ill stay here so ill just do what i want'

"I thought Valencia to Everton for £14M was daylight robbery but Juve must be laughing at getting £20M for him." true, apart from the fact that neither of those have happened.

just caught up with the weekend football

the first goal we concede against Soton is an absolute disgrace.

Has Bilic morphed into Glen Roeder?

I noticed that when Antonio went over and stood at right back.
I know it doesn't help when you are losing but their doesn't seem any unity in the team .... just a lot of blokes standing around shrugging their shoulders and accepting defeat.

Good analysis by many on here.

I missed the Watford game but worst player yesterday was Kouyate. Invisible for 80 mins and we he did get it he can not pass straight. One decent pass all game. No tackles or pressing, watched him looking back as they streamed forward at least 5 times. Add that to Payet, Lanzini and Antonio not pressing or tracking. We are going to be out run and caught on the break easily which we were. As mentioned, nothing different from early last season except now teams stand off us so we cannot get through them and especially now we have no overlapping full backs.

He has to rest Kouyate and Lanzini from starting. Give Obiang and Fernandes the brief to run and close for the first 60 mins and the same message for Ferghouli out wide. Antonio is the only option to lead the line. He at least has the strength to hold it up but we cannot hit it in the air to him either.

At RB Oxford's chance to prove he is the real deal everyone says.

That dont work we are relying on thereturn of Big Andy, Ayew and Cresswell

Very good analysis...send it to Bilic...

But as a hard headed Croat...he would ignore it...!!!

What I can't understand is that last season when Payet was injured we ground out results....where's the nouse gone to do this now??

Totally agree.

The comparisons to the squad of 04 is frightening.

Payet is looking like that seasons Di Canio.
Same shockingly bad defending as a unit and as a team.
Defend from the front..and we simply aren't doing it.

Most of them look lazy...unfit and disinterested out there.
Not good enough..it's truly shocking to watch.

Southampton were woeful first half, the difference is they improved and we didn't second.
At the moment we are making every side we play look brilliant and don't forget this is our run of " easy games ".
It's the total lack of energy and fight that is killing me.
I can take us being crap at times ( over 50 plus years you learn to accept that) but I will not accept us being a gutless laughing stock for that is what we are at present

Re: âš½ West Ham v Southampton - Official Match Thread FT 0-3
I think you are confusing results with performances, I might have a small leak in my roof but as long as it doesn't rain I don't have problem the moment it does I do, therefore either I do something about it before then or ignore it and hope for the best but if it does leak it isn't really a new problem is it?

Anyone who watched us last season could see we had defensive issues but our offensive options allowed us to overcome this, this season teams are clearly using the way we attack to exploit our defensive weaknesses that were there last season by sitting deep and waiting until we lose possession to exploit the space our overplaying in attack creates which is magnified on a bigger pitch, Swansea exposed us in exactly the same way both Watford and Southampton did so I struggle to understand why you can't see the defensive problems we have are not new ones.

Maybe the club saw it the same way and explains why they did nothing about it in the close season which if correct doesn't inspire confidence that we will turn this season around because as it stands we clearly are on the way to replacing Villa as the easiest team to beat in this League now.

Re: âš½ West Ham v Southampton - Official Match Thread FT 0-3
Lucky to lose 3-0. Southampton played well and do look a decent side but we look awful at the moment. Yes we are bad at the back but we are much much worse going forward. Teams shouldnt have half as much ball at Soton did yesterday. You give teams that much possession at home in the premier league they will create chances. They had so much ball because when going forward we gave it back to them so easy, if we improve going forward we will have less work to do at the back.

Start at the back, our back 4 have continuity. It's a different back 4 each week and i lost track the amount of times Ogbonna and Reid pass it sideways to each other after looking forward and see no-one to pass to.

Our full backs yesterday were woeful in an attacking sense. Can't remember either Nord or Arbeloa looking to get in behind there opposite number or deliver a cross into the box. With the way Payet and Lanzini have a free roam to go more central and get on the ball the full backs last year were going into the space vacated and stretching the other teams defences which in turn gave Payet and Lanzini even more space to carve teams open on the smaller Upton Park pitch. Yesterday they have far more ground to try and get through and their defence was way more compact as they didnt have to worry about our full backs. On motd2 the heat map of Bertrand and Cedric was phenomenal, they offered so much more going forward and the potugese midget was one of the best players on the pitch.

Next up the midfield. Noble for me did ok on the ball, he didnt have to many options but he wasn't the worst out there by a mile. Kouyate was terrible, that's one of the worst games he has had for us. He tried his heart out but on the ball he failed to do anything on the ball and lost it too easily for their second goal. Him and Noble as a pairing isnt working at the minute and at home they dont look like they can use the ball quick enough to affect teams.

The three infront are the most worrying, that was the worst i've seen Payet play and Lanzini didnt seem interested in getting in the pockets behind their midfield 3 and doing some damage. None of them seemed to wanted to come get the ball into feet, none of them had any interest in running back and doing some defending. They didn't press the Soton back 4 and there was no buzz when we did finally get the ball. This for me is the biggest problem as the difference it will make when fixed will be the thing that can turn our fortunes around. You need your attacking players to be playing well in this league if you are going to win matches and at the moment they arent.

Finally Zaza, I thought Valencia to Everton for £14M was daylight robbery but Juve must be laughing at getting £20M for him. No touch, no pressing, no shots, no intelligent runs. The guy is pants, Fletcher or Martinez to come in please and get Sakho back asap.

Bilic also is making some worrying decisions, I dont get Nord at RB instead of Byram and then i dont get moving Antonio there in the second half instead of bringing Byram on. Antonios body language when moving over to RB stunk aswell.....it werent the actions of a player who is behind his manager. Boro at home he has to get something then he has a international break to work with the squad then at Palace lose and it could be bye bye Slav.
