was just trying to put it across...one can not polish a turd neither turn a sow's ear into a silk purse ....we really need more in the way of quality reinforcements, and quick!

A few people seem to be pinning their hopes on the January window. I doubt much will be made available to Moyes, and I’ll be amazed if player who is half decent will want to join if it is.

It's points that count but we are not going to get any if all we have is skill and no work ethic.

What a strange way to have a dig at Noble. He's been dropped by the Manager. You should be happy?

As for praise? Yeah, I'll save that for when the manager has got a few results. We lost yesterday. 1 point in 4 games, and currently we are lower than we have ever been at this stage of a Premier League season.

Fcuk me One Mac...and that comes from the man who champions a certain mr I am running in quick sand Noble. At least praise the improved effort levels....we desperately need an upgrade in personnel to really see any massive improvement , let us hope they are lined up ready to come in by Jan 1.

It's not always simple to get players in at the start of the window... often they will be sitting out waiting and watching to see who moves on elsewhere and what openings appear. It's not all down to the buying club, sadly.

The way this is unfolding, I reckon the situation with our players is still just coming out of its honeymoon period... Moyes will know who is simply not good enough, he will know who could do it but isn't, and the boys with a bad attitude will have had long enough to break cover and mark their own cards.

We are looking for a good solid two seasons worth (at least) of shit and agro to be corrected in just a few games, which is a big ask for any calibre of manager, in fairness.

Agreed - think ive posted similar on every thread on here recently! The new signings need to be coming through the door as soon as they've finished singing auld lang syne. And it's so obvious where our weaknesses are it's not like a new manager needs different players - anyone coming in would need to overhaul the centre of midfield and add some leadership as a bare minimum

maybe if could string two passes together we might stand a chance.

I agree with Mca. The last time I looked you still dont get any points for working hard. You only get points for you know actually winning or drawing matches. As far as I can remember the last time everyone started getting all excited was because of the second half against Leicester. The next game V Everton worked out well after that now didn't it.

I expect yet another load of huff and puff and Chelsea to win 3-1

NS we looked out for the count with 15 gone under Bilic and with a far lower workrate.

Interesting use of Kouyate yesterday from kick outs by Adrian...clearly instructed to contest every kick out and won almost all of them.

Whilst the results haven't come yet there are clear patterns and tactical approaches that are being employed that show there is at least a plan in place in each game that was not the case under Bilic beyond give it to Lanzini or Antonio and cross your fingers.

Will all be about if Moyes has enough time for his plan to come good and actually affect the results. He hasnt gained the new manager bounce as he's not employing short term fixes, but when we've played well since he arrived we've looked more like we known what we're doing. Even some decent passages of one touch passing play.

I'm still optimistic and like some of what I'm seeing, but it's on a knife edge for me whether it comes good for us in time to save the season or not. If he keeps us up Id be happy for him to get another year though.

I thought Moyes was already finished at this level, until he lucked out in getting this job.

"If we show the same fight on Saturday that we did yesterday we should get something."

Do people seriously believe this? We have to show quality, and have another way of scoring apart from corners.

Fight and effort is a minimum required. If that's all we have, we are down.

We need to have identified said players now for them to start Jan 1st. None of this typical West Ham "waiting game" crap whereby we wait and see who is free at the end of the month

agree we still have time ...if we can put a good run together.
Yesterday was a great Improvement over Bilic performances.
Fitness...organisation...workrate etc improving.

I thought we looked out for the count with 15 to go... you know... exactly like we did under Bilic...

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 2-1
Agreed threesixty.

In fairness to moyes, we could have scored 4 against Watford, we hit the bar and missed a penalty against Everton in the week at a point where, I think, had we scored they would have caved.

Yesterday we were unlucky - Adrian made some good saves but they didn't create clear cut opportunities, they equalised from a free kick which was a dive and the winner was a genius ball and a superb finish - yet we still could have nicked anooint with the chances we created

If fitness is the root issue, it takes weeks to build up - and it's also tough to do when you've got a paper thin squad half of whom are injured. No fonte, Reid, Carroll, Hernandez, Noble out too - there's not many teams in the league who could cope without their teonfirst choice centre backs and strikers (regardless of whether they are really any good, Carroll and fonte are still first or second choice). Antonio has just come back but isn't 100% yet either.

If we show the same fight on Saturday that we did yesterday we should get something.

You're totally right about moyes desperately needing to notnfuck this up - if we go down he's surely finished at the top level. That would be four massive failures in 5 top flight jobs. And four failures in 5 years.

I think the key is who we sign in January and how quickly they come in - I hope that moyes stated who he'd want when he signed and that the £20m figure is actually half what's available because we need a lot of strengthening

These 3 games (Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal) are pretty much training games for us I feel.

And I'm glad to see Moyes mixing it up a bit to develop a style to the team that can beat the sides around us in the table.

Arthur is now an attacking midfielder and along with Antonio seems favoured to using Arnie. I think Noble is now an option rather than a starter

I cant see Caroll being first choice either as the pace of Shakho, Arthur, Antonio etc.. is clearly the way to go for our team.

I would like to see Martinez and Hasksabonivic have a game against Chelsea as well. Lets see what they can offer.

Not that worried about results now.
We have Stoke, Newcastle, Bournemouth and West Brom. All of which we could get 12 points of we work out our style and best players in the next 2 games.

Hart needs to be benched and used for the Arsenal cup game.

I think Moyes will do whats necessary because ultimately his reputation will be in tatters if he doesn't get us out of this. It's do or die for him.

I would agree to your comments re playing at home if it was against a team around us, but these two games are local derbies and with a good crowd behind the players, anything could happen. I don't think we will come out of these three games with no points at all.

Hernandez is the key to nothing.

nothing i've seen from DMs first few games suggests that he can fit Hernandez in.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 2-1
What’s the deal with Hernandez? The cynical me says he’s not looking to rush back, having fallen out with Moyes at the Mancs and will be off in January.
