Play like that rest of season we will finish mid table

Well done Moyes, got us pressing from the front, covering more ground and running beyond the ball

Lanzini was getting the ball higher up the pitch and being far more positive. Masuaku turned into Bale, Arnie finally turned up and thought Cresswell had a good game.

Our defending around the box was superb, and for the first time at home this season there was always options forwards and runners beyond their back four to get us up the pitch

Play like that tomorrow night and there is no reason we cant get something from Arsenal

Need to turn up like that against the Stokes, Bournemouths, West Brom's etc though

But for the first time in about 2 months I dont feel like we are dead and buried after saturdays performance

If Bilic’s grandad masquerading as the assistant manager had tried that he’d have had a heart attack on the spot.

Yes, great game and would be amazing to get something from Arsenal, but what we really need and should be able to do is get a shit load of points from Stoke, Newcastle, Bournemouth and West Brom over Christmas and New Year

One defeat of the reigning Champions doesn't make a Summer, as Sunderland also managed this feat.

But one swallow is a lot better than zero of the twittery little bastards

As good as the result and performance was we need more of the same, if not better, consistently. I hope that this is not a false dawn and instead a precursor of the rest of the season. Still a lot more ups and downs to come.

Great team performance on Saturday. We were superb all over the pitch. Cant fault the work rate of the players or the manager getting them where they need to be against some hefty criticism from some of the fans. Sakho for me seems to be out of the door in his mind. Just didn't do a job when he came on and I felt he was strolling around. But apart from that we were exceptional

Rumours that we might be in for borrowing Giroud in the new year window. If so Carroll might not even get on the bench.

Great performance and superb effort.
Hopefully this is the end of Carroll at the club now.

Moyes has that gimlet eye look back. The guy looks very determined and focused.
I wasn't for his appointment but will be very pleased to eat humble pie.

The only down side to yesterdays excellent performance was Ayews rotten cameo. The bloke is truly clueless.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Chelsea - The Official Match Thread FT 1-0
A great result. They put in hard work all afternoon and looked like a team again. We'd started to show this team ethic at City, and this performance built on it.

We had a system, the players knew what was expected of them, and there was a collective spirit amongst them.

After the 1st 10 minutes weathering the storm after half time we started to become confident and took the game back to them for decent periods.

It was almost like a cloud of doubt in themselves was lifted and the talent shined through.

Very early days of course, but, if we can deliver team spirited performances like this when playing our peer group over the season we will stay up without question.

Moyes? Clearly driven to prove a lot of people within the game wrong about his ability as a manager and if we take advantage of that through our results there's a win:win.

We certainly looked fitter, much better organised and as I've said, spirited as a team.

We've all seen the usual WH '5 minute wonders' many, many times before, lets hope that Moyes can exert enough influence to make the players believe in themselves and create a system of play to let them express themselves properly again.

Credit to Moyes and the team for a great result.
