Hehe Camel. You could be right although obviously we are all speculating.

Also called "innovators dilemma" I believe. Companies that devise or introduce a successful product or service and processes to support it struggle to adapt to a changing environment or conditions. Kodak a prime example.

His recruitment priorities seem all wrong and its not just hindsight. After those 6 or 7 purchases we were all waiting for the addition of "legs" for the midfield. We got a last gasp purchase of a 32 year old. We needed 2 top quality central midfielders to anchor the team around. There are other reasons but that to me is the biggest one. IMHO of course

Pellegrini suffers from ‘hindsight bias’.

What worked in the past, will work today.

Hindsight bias has proven the downfall of many businesses and governments across history. It’s is known as one of the fatal weaknesses in humans.

The best keep innovating and changing to meet a changing world. The CEO of AXA just paid $17bn for a commercial insurer called XL because he believes driverless cars will annihilate his current private motor market in the future.

Sadly, Pellegrini is the kind of bloke who would have produced more horse and carts in the 1920s while the world moved on to the Ford factory production motor car.

Hope I’m wrong mate, the signs are very worrying though and he just doesn’t inspire me from what I’ve seen on and off the pitch.
He does seem a stubborn old git, let’s hope he knows what he’s doing!
COYI!

I’d say you’re more likely to stick to someone with the pedigree of Pellegrini than someone who was successful at one club in a two or three club league. I guess we’ll have to see.

No point carrying on when neither of us are going to change our view ;-)

It’s a shit start and you may be right, I’ll never think it’s the right way to go 4 games in even if you turn out to be correct!

3 games time it could all be very different or much of the same.

Btw I was wrong about Palace - they played 4 of the previous seasons top 8 in their first 7 I believe.

We’ve just lost to Wolves and Bournemouth at home, neither were top 7 in the premier to my knowledge.

The fact De Boer had never managed in the league before you’d have thought he’d have been given more time than somebody who supposedly knows the league inside out?
His press conferences are car crash, no emotion, no passion, if his team talks are anything like this no wonder we look half asleep!
We’ve been sold a dud, he was in China for a reason and it weren’t a snooker tournament.

Who knows what would’ve happened in that hypothetical situation?

That said while you can make the simple comparison there are stark differences - FDB for example never managed in the league before.

Don’t know but I bet they didn’t play 5 of the previous seasons top 8 in their first 7 either.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Wolves - Official Match Thread FT 0-1
What was wrong with his interview?

When asked about new players he said “it’s no longer an excuse”

Rightly called out we were no where good enough in the first half and slightly better, but not good enough in the second half.

Rightly called the mistake out with our free kick, but said it wasn’t just that which cost us the game.

I’d understand if he said we played well but he didn’t hide behind any excuses. I’m not sure what more you’re looking for in a post match presser.

Do you think Palace would have stayed up with the Dutch experiment? They realised their mistake and rectified it immediately.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Wolves - Official Match Thread FT 0-1
Indeed! Let’s hope I’m wrong but the signs on and off the pitch ain’t looking good.
His interview after the Wolves debacle was more worrying than the performance itself, he seems to have no idea of the task he’s undertaken and the predicament we’re in.

I’m glad you and camel don’t run the club then John.

You can’t set out on a 3 year project, investing more in the squad than you ever have and then pack it in after 4 games.

We have time on our side, even if you and camel are right in your prophecies of Armageddon, we’re a long way from down even if the disaster strikes in the next 3 fixtures.

Hold tight and try to keep your knickers dry over the international period, two weeks is a long time in football.

I’m with Camel on this, we are clueless and all this give him time bollocks is exactly that bollocks!
You can tell if someone is failing but on the right track, it’s not the 4 defeats, it’s the manner of the defeats, shambolic at best!
He’ll drop Sanchez next game without a doubt despite him being our best player Saturday, that’s his style of management, outdated from a bygone era! Get rid ASAP , move on and try to right this mess, longer he’s here the worse the problem becomes.

My season ticket arrived in the mail today.
Possibly hand delivered by our midfield.

The unfortunate thing is that I got them to send out a replacement before the first game so have actually got in to see us v Bournemouth & Wolves.

He hasn't aged well, but that's a bit harsh.

Really believe people are deluded if they think Pellegrini will turn it around.

The Chilean is hopelessly out of his depth. A dead man walking.

The players are there to win games, but only with a new manager who understands what the fuck he’s doing.

Completely disagree. We look miles away from winning games in the PL. Miles away.

I guess Pellegrini was hoping a large chunk of the squad he kept/inherited would make the transition of the new players into the team a lot easier. What's happened is they've been so shit that he had had to bin them slowly (no pun) and is now seriously having to consider putting all the newbies in at once and let them find their feet the really hard way.

Screams of QPR to me, AND will still be the owner's fault for holding back and letting the squad go to rack and ruin by either not trusting who they've hired previously to spend money OR just been plain fucking tight.
