Honestly, we have one job this season and that's not to get relegated while the Pellegrini transformation continues.

Crap performance, good point.

I find this criticism of Antonio excessive he's not very good but he's not that bad every time he comes on he runs around and can cause Havoc amongst the opposition
Yes he doesn't have great technique but he does run and have a go maybe too many shots at random but at least he has a Go On Target... how many strikes on target did Arnautovic and Hernandez have ???
My opinion he's getting better as he gets his strength and playing skills back slowly I agree...
Antonio was not the reason we didn't get three points it was the weak error-prone Midfield..
And why have very few people if any mention that their strike on goal was a deflection off ofRice... not his fault obviously but a deflection none the less...
Huddersfield deserved the point for their first half display we deserved one for our second half...and great strike from Anderson...
Remember cold wet windy day up north displays in the past...

We are going to be inconsistent for a while longer, still early days, and even then will have days when we don't play well. Huddersfield played well so that has a bearing too. To get a point after a poor performance on a wet November day in Huddersfield is progress.
We'd have lost that last session.

What gph says.

If we were being pinned back all game, unable to string any passes together and creating fuck all, then you could say we was bad.

We wasn't any of those things.

Agreed not a bad point at all.

But the performance for me was disappointing across the board. Hard to pick out one good performance. Once again we were second best in the first half and had to take some cavalier risks to try to get anything out of the game. It's just not a recipe for success.

Other than the three youngsters gaining more valuable experience, I don't see much to get excited about in the side.

Still think this wasn't a bad point.
No I say games anymore. We are still a work in progress and they would have been hopeful of 3pts.

I don't think we were terrible on Saturday.

Anyone who does must've JUST started watching us, as we have been terrible in other matches this season.

"Disappointing" is the word I'd use.

I don't think 'patched up' is the right word but the reality is we are missing 5 players who would probably start in most peoples' teams.

Have we papered over the cracks and built a new team?

Probably is the answer.

Antonio is an England squad player who can’t get in our team and when he gets on the pitch he plays in a selfish brainless way

I’d have him a bit higher for criticism than 13th
Presume you have him below a couple of teenagers one of whom has started about 3 games

Antonio needs to get fitter and stop being a selfish cunt on goal.

The way Antonio plays now compared to when Bilic first put him in the team is stark in its contrast. I think most of us feel disappointed that he has deteriorated more than being angry about him.

I think criticism of any of our players is probably fair after the match. I thought we played pretty poorly overall. Antonio would be 13th on my list in terms of criticism I think. If others have him higher then fair enough we can disagree.

"Not at all. It just seems daft to focus on him for the team's shortcomings when he played less minutes than almost any other player and contributed to the equaliser! "

If think it's fair criticism tough, you have to ask why he played less minutes than any other player for a start, could it be his failure to impress when he does get a chance?

Something is up with Antonio, it's clear he has a bad attitude and thinks he's better than he is. Shame because he used to be likeable and put in some good work. Been a rotten egg since around his England callup

Re: Huddersfield v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
The Guardian said this morning that turning up at Huddersfield with a patched up side and getting a draw was a good result. The Hammers were without Noble Carroll and Wilshere and upon their return the team should move up the table.

But we were not patched up were we? Probably only missing Noble and Yarmo on Saturday. And I don’t think that Carroll or Wilshere are automatic starters anyway. For me Lanzini is our biggest miss and the report never mentioned him.

I also had a look at a Huddersfield forum and they were saying it was their best game of the season.

Alex is addicted to posting nonsense on the internet.

Watching our highlights, we actually look quite decent. We've definitely got a bit of skill there. We just need to be ready with a plan when another team tries to harry us and knock us off our game.

I'll tell you what's insane, this comment

'I just don't think we're that superior to the Huddersfield squad anyway, if at all'

STEP AWAY FROM THE INTERNET

>>> And nobody is blaming or making him responsible for the entire performance, so that's a made up acusation and strawman.

Well yes. Because you just made it up.

On contributions to goals, I've literally never heard of this rule that a player can be judged to somehow not have contributed when they clearly did. It's insanity - I reject it.

Re: Huddersfield v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Contribution Implies doing something deliberate or conscious of the eventual outcome. Antonio took a selfish shot which could have ballooned literally anywhere when poorly placed on his weak foot with better options available. The fact it came back to Anderson to finish was pure luck. Otherwise you might as well be thanking Snodgrass's mum for her contribution to yesterday's goal.

And nobody is blaming or making him responsible for the entire performance, so that's a made up acusation and strawman.
