Last time I went to St Andrews I had bottles, bricks and batteries thrown at me while the police looked on. Horse shit would be have been a welcome change.

A tough game. They worked their socks off and its always hard to break them down. And to be honest I never really feared they would score. Although at times when we lost the ball we looked very open which was a worry.

As for Carroll I think he is becoming a bot of a comical figure now. A bit like in the CFC mould. He looks slow and off the pace now and looks like he has lost his touch and any technical ability he did have.

And on the game.....

Looked mustard first 20 mins, then Carroll come on and whole game changed. Guy is absolutely useless now, fine when he is unmarked and has it put on his head like his goal but going up against CB's now he loses most of the battles. No movement anymore, no touch....if he didnt come on as a sub he would of been hooked long before he scored his goal. Get rid, i'd much rather Perez.

On the game thought we looked fairly comfortable. It was always we were going to lose it rather then them do enough to win it. Rice superb again, thought Antonio played well too. Diagana was lively again, and he only looks like he'll get better. Thought Silva and Nasri were both impressive, both good options for us to have. For how injury ravaged our squad is the selection and performance wasn't bad at all. Hoping for a half decent draw tonight then give this cup a real good go.

Yeah i heard it did Sold, the police didnt keep them in after the game as usual and they all walked over the bridge which leads you to the carpenters. Only about 8 coppers were there trying to stop 500 or so Birmingham who looked like they had good numbers and were wound up after giving the other bridge full of west ham loada verbal. By time i was near the builders could hear alot of noise from where the carpenters is.

Police havent a clue how to control it over there every game they just let the away fans walk with all of our fans back to the stations and expect no trouble.

I noted that before the match, Moyes took a look in this situation so to me he has digressed or some has gone wrong with him and Pellegrini.

Re: West Ham v Birmingham - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Att: 54,850
I think playing Andy Carroll is still a bit like what this thread has become, for good or bad reasons, he draws attention.

I think as the whole team has lumbered a bit at the end of this run of games, this has been helpful. The opposition has not scored since Watford with him on the pitch, for instance.

Just pondering, given our shortage of defenders, just how much of a pick Reece Oxford must be, to be ignored by another manager

I agree with Pellegrini
If he stays fit he can be useful at times in the back half of the season.
But after that it’s goodbye. Farewell. See you later

Would like to see a bit more of Silva. Hopefully we have some games where we are ahead and he can come on to give Arnie a rest.

He's a definite asset when fit.

When fit.

I'm in the minority here who thinks Carrol is good player who still is an asset to have in the team.
