It's all about money. It's basically winning the seven ties to lift the cup and what that returns, against winning the last 7 fixtures in the league.
21 points can certainly mean the difference between survival and relegation, unless you do "a Derby" and only get a handful of points before the 8th-last game - it certainly takes you from mid-table to Europa in all but the most extraordinary scenarios.
And, again, Champions League v Europa. For a club like us, probably a far better money spinner going for Europa.
Difficult, but I feel that's what the game is now. Mid-week games for all FA Cup ties will be coming soon - the money-men demand it.

How much is winning the cup worth? To me the money is immaterial as it would be about the day and potential celebration etc but I just wondered if place or two in the Prem was worth more? If so It explains why only us fans care.
Money has ruined the game in so many ways :-(

Just cast your 'mind' back to three weeks ago. There were nearly 60,000 at a cup game who prove you totally wrong. You think they went because they don't give a fuck about the cup?

If I see us win the cup then I’ll take whatever bad stuff comes any time later. Not that the two go hand in hand of course. And FWIW any Wigan fans (last season) I spoke to wouldn’t have changed a thing and I know 2 Portsmouth supporters and they wouldn’t either.

When Wimbledon draw Doncaster at home or some other lower league side then more may be more angry with the no show on Saturday.
No guarantee we would have actually won the competition but a chance to get to semi final at least.
