Actually Sven, I think we need to play like Liverpool. I think it can work better with less skillful players than trying to play like Man City. Also, I think it’s more entertaining. However, need our players to move the ball faster and run more for that.

The concerning thing is that the squad balance and Quality is way off. We need upgrades on certain positions and that’s without needing a defensive midfielder and another two strikers.
It’s not as if we are one or two players from having things click or progress. To get all our ducks in a row it’s going to take years.
So baton down the hatches and dig in because this isn’t getting better anytime soon. The owners live for premiership survival and that’s the peak of their ambitions or what their resources allow. They are holding out for the lemon of a stadium to become available at a reduced cost and then they will sell.

Well Oxford are in QF of the cup, and good luck to them.
We could have been there with a bit of application and desire. Even if we’d gone for it in the cup, chances are we’d still have have amassed the same mighty two points we’ve got since that game. Possibly more, because winning breeds a winning mentality.
Still, roll on Newcastle and our quest for mid table mediocrity.

Obviously we just need to play like Man City
Was interesting watching them on MOTD where they showed how they create a square (this was on the left side) where by passing and movement they deal with a packed defence by isolating a space behind the full back and work towards getting a player with the ball in it.
Unfortunately for us this needs good passing, running and quick movement off the ball.

Pedro, I agree we were / are slow and dull in the attack. It’s our play makers fault, especially Anderson and Lanzini. They advance slowly looking for an opportunity in a compact organised defense. There are few to no opportunities and they usually end up losing the ball as they’re a bit light weight. What they need to do as other have said is be faster and get behind defenses.
Our games are getting a bit predictable. We get quite a lot of possession and push them back deep in their half, but don’t even make very good goal scoring chances. Opposition have a few, very few chances, but look dangerous running into the massive space left in our half. Finally they score and we are chasing the game.
We have to be faster, especially when other teams attack and get out of position. I’m sue Pellegrini is working on it.
