n the immediate aftermath of the move which led to Fredericks sprinting past a defender and laying on the assist for Manuel Lanzini’s winning goal, however, the full-back appeared to feel his groin, departing the field eight minutes later to be replaced by Vladimír Coufal.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Leeds United, Moyes confirmed that Fredericks will play no part at Elland Road and will require further assessment in the days to come.

“Ryan’s probably the only player we’ve got any real major concerns over,” the manager explained. “He felt his groin and he’s had an injury prior to it before, so he’s being assessed at the moment.

“He won’t be fit for this game [against Leeds] but we’re hoping it’s not too serious. We’ll know more after the results of the tests, probably at the start of next week.

Any update on Fredericks?

You know the player whose pace and determination set up the winning goal but was then subbed off due to injury?

Yarmo seems to struggle coming off the bench but does OK starting. That's not me saying he should start over anyone but when we do start picking up injuries, him starting won't be a disaster.

Matic can't get done retrospectively over it as the ref admitted he saw it.

If he saw it why didn't he do anything about it?

Diop was superb, so was Kral. Bowen maybe my MotM.
Yarmo ran up and down and gained my respect again.

Who cares about the plaudits?

I"d love another season where the pundits completely ignored us as we smashed teams left right and centre.

Fucking Souness said this, Neville said that...who gives a shit

I'm loving being a West Ham supporter. Long may it continue.

I hope the entitled cunts don't get knocked out at the champions League group stage. As you just know We will end up facing them in the Europa League . And even if we do win we would receive fuck all credit for doing it .

Has Sullivan got them sleeping on the coach whilst up there?

Can't see him forking out for team hotel rooms when there's a perfectly good empty bus parked up at a motorway service station somewhere.

Wasn't it an injury getting seen to for Chelsea and Wardie had the ball so Speedie told him to give him the ball as it was their free kick, Wardie then in very few words told him to do one but Speedie got irate and demanded the ball which Wardie gave it to him as a full on smack into his bollocks.....all in front of a corpsing Chicken Run?

He actually overrun the ball a little which probably led to the injury. He likes an injury, Fredericks. Suppose Johnson can fill in at RB if he's out for a bit.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread Carabao Cup FT 0-1
Was a surprising bit of skill from Fredericks, a man not really known for his talents with the ball. Has looked really lively so far this season and lightning quick. Hope his injury aint too bad.

Gotta feel sorry for Fredericks after a superb assist and getting a freak injury like that, watched it back again this morning as I didn't see what he did last night

Hopefully it's not too severe, get well soon

ludo, it was good to see the squad up there but the main reason was because they've not travelled back and are staying up north for the Leeds game. more great thinking from Moyes

When Fernandes came on they had 420 million pounds worth on the pitch.

Matic's knee to the nuts was, in the modern game, a red card but it did remind me of one of my favourite moments back in 85/86 or 86/87 I think? Mark Ward in a Zenith Data Systems tie against Chelsea under lights home at UP. Did something similar to Matic but with proper power and really connected with David Speedie who screamed properly ( not one of these modern day faux screams they all do now). Speedie was pole axed good and proper. Got him right in the orchestras. Ahhh happy days.
