I think he was due to play for Rochdale in the cup before we signed him, but luckily got injured, so wasn't cup tied

He scored 2 in the quarter final at Highbury, another couple in the semi final replay at Stamford Bridge and of course 2 in the final. I was at each of those games and whether he was any good or not matters very little. We was responsible for a great few weeks in our history and will always be fondly remembered.

He was an average player but very much in the right place at the right time.

I remember it very well. As a 12 year old, I acted it out in the park across my road, the day before.

He scored two in the semi too, if I recall correctly.
