Bruce Willis's family announce he has dementia:
Bruce Willis's family announce he has untreatable dementia: Die Hard star, 67, is diagnosed with brain condition that ravages speech, behaviour and personality less than a year after he retired from acting suffering from aphasia !

Bruce Willis' family have revealed the actor has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) - less than one year after he retired from acting due to his battle with brain disorder, aphasia. The Hollywood icon, 67, (pictured left and right with his daughters, wife Emma Heming and ex-wife Demi Moore) withdrew from acting last year as he began his fight with the illness that caused his language abilities to deteriorate - with a joint statement from his family on Thursday (inset) announcing his condition had 'progressed.'

Re: Bruce Willis's family announce he has dementia:
I don't know what the law is in the USA but the difficulty with dementia, certainly was in our case, is until someone is officially diagnosed and a a social worker or similar makes a legal stance that that person no longer has mental capacity you can't make any decisions in their best interests and it's even harder if you don't have a POA. In our case mum was well down the road from a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment and it was only a serious stomach upset that caused hospitalisation and therefore an eventual capacity statement. Mum never went home after that hospital visit, it was into care. That was also only because my other half at the home knew a consultant at the hospital, otherwise the NHS would have sent her home.

I mention this because if it is similar in the US then Bruce would have been fine to carry on making his own decisions, even if others, including family, probably didn't think those decisions were right for him. That is the problem. Its a human right to be free and make your own decisions but that also has consequences if an illness affects your thinking and decision making processes that place yourselves or others in some sort of danger.

Re: Bruce Willis's family announce he has dementia:
Again I never said demetia was good but that's Willis's recent performances might be down to his dementia which he's stated is the case.

Not sure what you cretins don't get.

Bet Demi Moore's worth a few bob as well.

Hilarious. Imagine having sympathy for someone watching a sub par action flick, than for someone with a degenerative brain disease working for his kids before he forgets who they are

Willtell

So firstly I never said I was happy that he has dementia just that his recent acting appearences have been terrible and very prolific. He has admitted they are below par but is doing them to leave more money to his family although he probably had 200m banked before he even did them. So the poor punter is renting these films based on his big name even though it's trash and this to suppliment his millionaire children

And I'm the cunt?

Swiss doing his usual diplomatic act.

I didn’t know Bruce had this horrible disease and said to my wife how bad Bruce had become as an ageing actor only last week.

A real shame for a man that had it all in his life but none of us know what’s waiting for us…
