FA Cup final
|
Feels a bit traditional this, last game of the season with a 3pm KO. Just needs the sun to be out. Old firm final on at the same time.
Looks like it's Ten Haag's last match in charge. I fancy a good, open game with Man City edging it to claim another double.

Don’t know about the rest of the team but have had defensive injuries for a lot of the season …. Maguire Martinez Varane Shaw Looked much better with Martinez & Varane back though Varane is now off I guess more of their problem is paying £70m for Casemiro, £60m for Mount & £90m for Antony (instead of buying Kudus for £38m) Not sure if he picked all those but you’d think the owners might be reluctant to give him more to spend Hopefully they flounder in the league which I think they will. Unless Sir Dave Brailsford can pep them up with some of his cycling drugs

Ten Haag was at pains after the game to point out how injuries have derailed their season, does he have a point? maybe. Suspect they had already decided that he's going, if so it will surely be announced in the coming days.

“ Ten Hag: “Two trophies in two seasons and three finals… not bad. If they don’t want me anymore, I’ll go somewhere else and win trophies. That’s what I do”
It’s like a Moyes situation on steroids. Success that most clubs would relish, yet the football has been poor, some embarrassing defeats and just what they are used to or want.

Exactly that, Ron.
Man Utd were fucked with injuries this season, as the final proved with both Varane and Martinez solidly holding out City's attack.
He's definitely made mistakes but he's also actually a decent manager, as his Ajax days suggested. The Media have non stop pummelled him too in 2 years and quite enjoyed him sticking on them on the Beeb when questioned about it.

Happygilmore, in his defence, he won three Eredivisie’s between 2018-2022, two Dutch cups in the same period, then two cups in two season for Man Utd.
I don’t think he’s a brilliant manager, but I think he can stand behind that statement with confidence on the basis of the above. Unlike Moyes.
You might argue that he should win things with Ajax, but have a look at their success since he left.

Not a good look for Arteta/Arsenal, all this not winning Trophies whilst 2 other different sides other than City win a Cup each recently. *big grin*

Hate that Man United won, but pleased City lost.
English football is in danger of becoming a laughing stock with cheating City winning everything every year.

Honestly, how many Man Utd fans do you actually know? It's always said they're everywhere, but to be honest, I find it's fake Liverpool fans absolutely fucking everywhere, closely followed by Arsenal. I barely know anyone who supports Man Utd.

I switched off when their second goal went in. briefly switched on in the second half to see a Man United player wrestle Haaland to the floor. 1. The ref didn't give it 2. VAR didn't give it 3. The commentators parroted their phrase. Not a penalty for me.
So the old network of Man utd. bias is still there. If you don't get a penalty for grabbing an opponent and pulling him to the floor, how the fack can you get a penalty against them

Not being in Europe could turn out very handy for Newcastle over the next season or two as it gives them time to put a decent squad together based on their early CL exit experience.
Man U may well struggle to get out of their group stage as they still play like a group of individuals and not a cohesive team; they may now have to re-assess their sales plan they feel they need to rebuild the team.
Likewise, us not being in Europe next term may also be a blessing in disguise as we rebuild.

Much laughter with Chelsea dropping to the conference league. Will they take part seeing they have to comply with stricter financial rules?

Just remember when the Surrey cunts down this way start giving it large remind them of how this wasn't a great competition and they shouldn't have to play in it. Now all of a sudden because they are way off the title race it's the best thing ever to win......Man City fans will shrug their shoulders and be content with their title.....how things have changed in their fan base and indeed the media, the best thing to come out of this is the smug Shearer's (who should be very complimentary of us for winning him his only title) beloved Newcastle are not in Europe

Fair play they rode their luck and took the chances when they came, while City were a bit profligate.
Right out of the Moyes big book of tactics.
That unbelievable gift was the difference in the end.
