Playstation help

i turned on my ps3 and it's just a black screen, when i disconnect the hdmi cable the screen goes blue, so it is connected to the tv.
the controller is registering with the ps3.
my knob is so sore from the vigorous wiping, and i will not be buying an x-box.
so can the wise world of WHO help me out?

Had this problem when I first switched to HDMI. can't remember exactly what I did but it was something along the lines of using original cable that comes with your ps3.
try typing 'black screen ps3 hdmi' in google and there's a few suggestions.

once you've plugged it in, it will probably be-beeping continuasly now, ignore this as this will do you good, its broken now..

sounds like it needs a hard re-boot...
unplug from back, place against skirting board in room, and a good hard physical kick/stamp on the top normally sorts it, leave it unplugged with its new dent for about 5 mins, then plug and play...
a lot better than wiping knob on it... and less chance of infection...

i updated it a few days ago, but it was working fine.
i tried holding the button down for the second beep, but its still the same.

press and hold the power button when you turn it on.
If it is still working, this should take it back to factory settings.
Wouldn't have just done the update would you?
