Cheltenham Ante-Post Betting Thread
Has anyone had a dabble early doors yet?

Just had a few quid win and place (Betfair) on Quite De La Roque for the Gold Cup in case the 2 in market have a mare.

Also looking at Medermit for the Ryanair at around 20s. Should go well as it has been aimed for this.

Brilliant weeks racing just a shame they ran Kauto as he clearly was not well enough. Lets hope they do the sensible thing and retire him now as thats what he deserves and does not owe anyone anything.
Highlight for me was Big Bucks win and Lowlight was the ride Chapoturgeon was given in the Foxhunters.
Thanks to SOS for all of the updates and good info and thanks to James for organising the Telegraph league which was great( 2nd place, cracking).

Went on Thursday and it was freezing, made all the better landing a nice treble with sir des lynam, big bucks and salut flo, could have been so much better if poquelin hadn't been withdrawn as I may have bagged all 4. Will never know what might have been!

Re: Cheltenham Ante-Post Betting Thread
Yup I'll go along with that... only had the one winner the whole festival (was about £30-40 down in all)... but still had fun.... shame for Kauto but have to admit I'm happy getting him back in one piece... I was having bad thoughts yesterday morning at something terrible happening... some of teh riding seemed a bit questionable... Boston Bob a big fav' but was never put in a real position to attack it seemed.. absolutely loved Quevega, Sprinter Sacre and Big Bucks and obviously Hunt Ball and the madcap connections... might have a small dabble at Aintree but deffo won't be going on 4 or 5 races a day like I did here!

Morning sam, agree with every word of that. Terrible ride from std - just never put it in a position to challenge, and the way it finished actually just made it all the more gutting.

Horrendous last day, but didn't ruin my enjoyment of the whole week. A GREAT day to be a bookie. Glad you had a good one, see you on the weekend bets thread!

Re: Cheltenham Ante-Post Betting Thread
Desperate last day and 99per cent of people there lost out, things went flat after the Gold Cup and although delighted for John jo not the result everyone wanted. Only troubled the bookies once and that that was for salsify instead of On the Fringe but other than that took a battering.

As for Astracad,Idont believe in the blame game but still felt that the jockey just left it too far out of the race, granted it was very fast {Actually faster than the Triumph Hurdle} that was no excuse, there is no point being able to stay on up the hill into 7th when you are 20 lengths off the pace and running past beaten horses. Well down ovrall on the meet but an absolutely brilliant time and will definitely back next year.

in 2013 it will all be about quevega, big bucks, spriner sacre, flemenstar and sir des champs. And hopefully a better year for the Irish although you got to laugh when you hear that John joe is no longer Irish nor Synchronised or sunnyhillboy or Jp Mc manus, tony Mc coy or alan berry. Has anyone heard John Joe open his mouth? John Joe to the best of my knowledge uses Red Mills feeds even, so the only British part of the operation is the guy who shovels up what comes out the other end.

But anyway onwards and upwards am knackered, but roll on Aintree and Punchestown.

After winning and losing a few in my first outing I'm actually up £25 which is astonishing, got a small e/w on astracad as per SoS and I'm having a flick through the cards today as to who I'm gonna throw the rest of my winnings away on.

Good luck to everyone today
