Sam Baldock
Right
I know i will get slaughtered for this Post but please think before you have a knee jerk reaction
I rate Baldock highly but on this forum i think we are overlly praising him ie over rating him
he has done well and looks like a good finisher in the box
But i think we should be careful with our expectations as he is still young
i actually think if we get Sharp/Sordell/Maynard or the like Sam will be seen by the staff as very much our 3rd choice striker
I think most on here have seen him as a bright spark and now see him thru rose-tinted glasses
again not knocking him as he is talented but far ,i can see, from a finished article especially if/when we go up
does anyone else agree?

Coffee - Don't give me all that old flannel, I know all of that. I'm saying we shouldn't expect too much from a rookie striker from MK Dons. Besides football has changed a lot since then, maybe you don't know this but it's more and more rare nowdays to pick up a player from the lower leagues than make it at the top. Silly arguement pal.

Where did Billy Bonds come from? Or Kevin Keegan? Or plenty of others?

Re: Sam Baldock
This club has been so starved of someone who can score goals in recent years so when someone comes along who looks like he may be able to deliver there is an over reaction on here and he is built up too much, I even read on ehre that Chelsea maybe in for him, absolutely fucking laughable.

We got him from MK Dons ffs, what did people expect? another Robbie Fowler? He has done ok so far and only time will tell if he can cut in in with the big boys next season, assuming we go up of course. The dury is still out for me.

I see him as an excellent Milliband replacement should he step down.

The playing style is holding Baldock back, not the personel.

Re: Sam Baldock
Baldock is crying out for a Berkovic type player behind him....his pace would do the rest. Unfortunately Noble and Co's vision etc isn't good enough to pick a pass on the build up is too slow.

Re: Sam Baldock
Baldock makes a countless amount of runs in to the box but our players are so one dimensional they dont spot it!

Southampton have only beaten Ipswich, Barnsley, Coventry and Forest away, all teams in the bottom half.
