Can someone recommend me an author please

Looking for something new to read.
My favourite Authors are Karin Slaughter and Harlan Coben.
I've also enjoyed Dean Koontz and Richard Laymon , so along those kinds of lines please.
I've just finished a trilogy by a guy called Chris Carter which were very good.

If you are into your Hoss's try William Nack.... just finished `Secretariat - Making of a Champion` and now half way through his book `Ruffian - A Racetrack Romance'.... both superbly written books

Great thread , just seen it now. I have about 80 per cent of the authors mentioned here and many of the books in various e book formats, MOBI, Adobe digital editions, microsoft reader etc etc, if any one wants to try them or any one book or author in specific whomail me and I will forward them this evening when i get home

The Alex Cross series was good but they are now really short books, large type and quite predictable, before he found out that one of the main characters was his arch enemy

Dumas: The Count of Monte Cristo.
Don't bother reading any modern fiction, it's all bullshit. May as well read James Corden's autobiography (i.e don't bother).
If I had to suggest something modern, 1984 and Brave New World, but why depress yourself.
