Re: Thin Lizzy
John Sykes was brilliant on that album I thought and it is underestimated as was the Thunder and Lightening tour and the live album "Life" from that tour

Re: Thin Lizzy
I liked Thunder and Lightning, quite a few good tracks on that album.

Re: Thin Lizzy
Yea great gig.. Played really well. Nice venue Brighton Dome. Of course it’s never gona be Lizzy without Phil, but Ricky from the does a good stand in. It was the usual Lizzy faire lot of audience joining in. Missed clutch but heard they put on a good show. The pre gig beers were a good laff as well, although not sure about the Leza pub we ended up in at one stage…
There is Talk about them maybe doing an album???!! Not sure how that would go down…

Re: Thin Lizzy
Lizzy at the Rainbow 1978 was one of my fave ever gigs. Front row centre with Phil sweating all over the shop

Re: Thin Lizzy
I saw them supporting Slade just before "Whiskey in the Jar" came out. They played it twice and asked the audience to go out and buy it. The rest is history.

Re: Thin Lizzy
How did you enjoy it?

I ended up leaving before Thin Lizzy on Saturday because of the weather, didn't fancy getting stranded.

Was worth it for Clutch anyway.

No Phil Lynott or Gary Moore ... what's the point?

Re: Thin Lizzy
I turned down a job as a roadie for them, one week before they appeared on TOTP singing Whiskey In The Jar.

Yup, that's what I remember too!

Was quite a night. Somewhere I've still got the tour programme signed by Lemmy who was lurking by the mixing desk, and Dave Murray who was in the Duke of Cornwall afterwards.

I saw one of their first gigs over here supporting Wishbone Ash at the Lyceum

Bell, Downey & Lynott

Re: Thin Lizzy
Only ever saw them once. Jailbreak tour, Liverpool Empire. Lynott, Downey, Gorham and Robertson. Pure class. Rosalie & Cowboy Song blow me away every time.

I was there mate. Third row from the front. The old noggin is a bit clouded but I think they did’ Out in the fields’ , ‘Military man’ and course ‘ Parisian Walkways’ . One of the highlights of my gig going.
