32 years since West Ham last won a major trophy
It's a frankly embarrassing records, isn't it? If we do go up, I hope Allardyce takes the cups seriously next season.

Why worry about what Allardyce does next season. Lets enjoy being clear at the top and hopefully get the Championship trophy. Worry about doing well in the cups next season.

Luton can keep their League Cup glory if what's happened to them since goes with it.

Re: 32 years since West Ham last won a major trophy
How many clubs actually have won a major trophy (i.e. the top division league title or one of the two major knockout competitions) in the last 32 years?

I bet it's a surprisingly small amount. Probably much much smaller in the last 15-20 years still.

Re: 32 years since West Ham last won a major trophy
Only HPFL can start a thread like this a day after beating our biggest rivals.

That's why he's in my top-five!

;-)

For the record, yeah, it is embarrassing that a club of our size and support - not to mention the quality of players that we have had at times - has failed to win a trophy in 32 years... But other well-supported clubs like Newcastle and Sunderland haven't won anything in decades either...

2nd Division champions 80-81 that makes it 31 years.

Youth cups don't count??

I just looked up the 1999 Intertoto Cup game v Metz. I knew Saha was playing but I had absolutely no idea that Sebastian Schemmel was playing for them. And I went to both games.

Re: 32 years since West Ham last won a major trophy
It took us nearly 70 years to win our first major trophy so this doesn't even register on the embarrassing stakes.
