West Ham youth help England win international tournament
|

16 year old Leo Chambers a regular in the West Ham U18 team helped England U17's win the Algarve Cup this week.
The competition is a four team tournament which also saw Holland, France and hosts Portugual put out the best of their youths.
Chambers who has been outstanding in the centre of defence as West Ham's Academy side continues to impress this season had the priviledge of being Captain and scored the winner in the last minute, heading home a late free kick in Englands first game, a 2-1 victory against France.
This was followed up by a 2-2 draw with Holland and a 2-1 win over the hosts in the final game, Leo came on as substitute in both of these games.
At West Ham he is forming a strong partnership with Kenzer Lee and is gaining a reputation for being a strong, ball playing centre back. The two of them hoping to be the backbone of further success with West Ham this season and beyond.
Both Kenzer and Leo are expected to be in action in the 5th Round of the Youth FA Cup away to Chelsea on Feb 15th. 7PM kick at Staines Football Club. I'd encourage anyone that can to come along and get behind the lads and to see what all the fuss is about.

Fanimo, Turgott are both U18's, year above Internationally and nothing happens in that age group this season.
Same with Sadlier at Rep of Ireland although he is English as well but qualifies through his father.
International Years are calender based not as per Clubs which are School years.

He is a very good player - Sadly the game where he got most WHU fans watching, the FA Cup game v Brighton he was probably the worst of our players - although the others were very good. It was certainly out of character and he has a bright future.
Please for him - not sure why the other England lads from the squad weren't playing in the comp though.
