have southampton's wheels fallen off
Lost at home tonight to the Pikeys, same team we beat with 10 men on saturday..........

Are they a shower of shit (probably) and who are the dark horses sneaking up behind ? We've also got to play most of the dark horses but I reckon that's good news since they won't turn up and defend.

Agreed Hugh M, been saying it for weeks. If we believe we are the best side in the championship and have the best attacking players it is time we showed it. I see from the table today that seven championship sides have either scored more, or the same number, of goals as us which isn't good enough.

Our defence has proved itself in recent matches, Noble, Faubert and Tomkins have been outstanding so lets try and stuff a few teams by attacking them instead of relying upon dodgy penalties and a goal scored after the opposition's keeper was taken out!

Looking forward very much to the Reading game.
Fucking horrible club.
With the players we have now I honestly think we will fucking wallop them at home.
We owe them big time.
As a few other posters have said on here recently we are really going to stuff someone soon, I'd be more than happy to keep the single goal victories comming and save the walloping for them, with a serious injury for Kebe thrown in for good measure.

I can see the ridiculous fixture program in March/April coming to our aid.

OK the quality in our squad isn't fantastic but we have the numbers, the depth, that our promotion rivals seem to lack.

I have to believe that we are better equipped to cope with games every 3 or 4 days than they are for a 2 month period at the end of the season.

Bc. What i mean about reading is that they are catching us, plus play us at the end of march. They could overtake us at a pivotal time of the season.

They play the game, using an attacking policy which has its first objective to Win the match,

I know what you are saying, this is West Ham, who knows what will happen and we should always expect the worse and hope for the best.

I agree, but would add "and hope for the best" at the end of your first sentence.

I know what you are saying, this is West Ham, who knows what will happen and we should always expect the worse. However, I don't see it as unnreasonable at all to expect to finish above Reading and to win promotion.

I find it interesting that you normally say I am negative yet when I state I am not worried about Reading and I expect us to win games to get promotion you tell me to 'get real' Mmmm.

I'd rather NOT get used to this division.

Re: have southampton's wheels fallen off
I wasn't in palin, but what I meant was that we're in this division and had better get used to it. The attitude of feeling humiliated by the likes of Reading is the same as the one that saw us lose to Rotherham all those years ago and which belatedly cost Roeder his job.

''Reading's form is very worrying''

I really don't understand posts such as this. Not only is it humiliating that we should be 'worried' by the mighty Reading, it's more of a case of if we do what we have to do, ie win games in this shit league, promotion will take care of itself.

Re: have southampton's wheels fallen off
Lets not forget that Reading thumped us 3-0 at their place so if they finish above us we've no one but ourselves to blame. Our advantage going into the final stages of this season is that two of our main rivals have to come to Upton Park, Reading and Birmingham. beat them both and we will still be in a very strong position. Cardiff away is going to be tough as is Blackpool, Leeds now under Warnock and we also we have a tough away trip to Leicester still to come, those are the real sticky games for me, all the others we have to win if we want automatic promotion. If not it'll be the play offs and the whole world will be willing us to fail. No one ever said it was going to be easy!

Re: have southampton's wheels fallen off
i'd say Reading, Brum and Saints are our main rivals

Reading's form is very worrying

Re: have southampton's wheels fallen off
If we finish above Soton we will go up.

They are our biggest rivals for automatic promotion by a Million miles.

Good side and score lots of goals I will be amazed if they don't go up.

Apart from them I don't really rate any other side in this division at all

Re: have southampton's wheels fallen off
Their wheels came off today! But win our two games in hand and we are 4 points clear and nothing they can do about it
