The other night I was watching It might get loud with Jack White, Jimmy Page and The Edge, when Jimmy Page breaks into the riff from Whole lotta Love, Just look at the other two blokes faces.
Anyway for the last few days listening to Led Zep non stop, awesome stuff,

It's definitely an opinion thing.
Personally, while I think they're the best band ever, I don't think they have the best songs. But I don't care so much about the songs. Other people care more about songs.

I think they're the best group ever.
They're the only band I've really really wanted my own band(s) to sound like, and I'm sure that's true of many many people in bands.
Nobody has ever done riffs better than Jimmy Page. And John Bonham was the best drummer ever.
Never quite got the Jimmy Page/You Really Got Me thing though. I'm a bass player and I could have played that solo. Most guitarists could have played that solo. It sounds harder than it is. I doubt Dave Davies would have needed or wanted any help!

Led zep are one of the best groups of all time IMO.
With songs like Since I've been Loving you, Gallows Pole, Going to California, that arent very well known, mix that in with Stairway, Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love and Black Dog, and you've got more good music than has come out in the last 5 years...

I am 39 (ish) and love all forms of music. From Morricone to the Clash..to Madness onto Faithless.
I honestly would not recognise a Led Z song unless someone told me it was them. Therfore I have deduced they are shit.

Read Hammer of the Gods as well, not a bad read, though don't like the tone the author sets - like he's striving for acceptance.
The Lemon Song has the coolest bass line of all time (in the mid section).
