Alvin Martin on TalkSport now.
That was quite interesting...was on about how Sir Trev and Redknapp will find it difficult to work together for England cos they never liked each other when they played together, then Sir Trev decided HR was even more cunter after stitching Billy Bonds up.

Not one ex team mate or friend has ever publicily backed him or said what a lovely fella . He spent all his time down the bookies ,when all his team mates were bonding down the pub.

There's a Trevor Brooking statue?

Re: Alvin Martin on TalkSport now.

For a man of Trevor brooking's statue, to still be harbouring a grudge for what redknapp done to he's mate 18 years ago, then redknapp really must be one loathsome, egotistic, self-serving cunt of a human being.

I'm not sure just how much sway sir trev would have in the next appointment, but wouldn't it be ironic if arry didn't get the job on the back of brooking's capacity.

You know, what comes around goes around, karma & all that.

Teacher?

Or one of those weedy paedos who has a whole secret life where they pretend to be a child and go back to school to kiddy fiddle?

Teacher, for my sins. A week away to Scarborough and the North Yorkshire moors. Foot and mouth also raging at the time iirc.
Heard Roeder got the job from my Head. He was laughing his head off at our 'big name'!

Why were you still at school when you were 29?

Sledge,
Remember that some on here wanted to keep Zola. Doesn't mean he was any good. For God's sake, some even defended Grant! Given his replacement and the lack of detail on his exit, it's understandable that people were confused.
Redknapp took over when we were just above the relegation zone and left us in much the same position, despite what some would have you believe.
The board did not back Bonds with cash yet found oodles, for West Ham anyway, for Redknapp to get Hartson and Kitson when he was flirting with relegation.
Much as I despise the twat, there WERE games that brought a massive smile to the face. But on the other hand, plenty didn't. A total inability in most cases to do anything away from home whilst happily accepting this hoodoo was incredibly frustrating under Harry.
I am firmly in the Redknapp is a lying, cheating, football club bankrupting, back stabbing, dishonest fuckwit who could chat his way out of almost anything and deflect blame... See court case result.
I still sat on a coach to Scarborough on a school trip in disbelief when we appointed Roeder. At that point, even I would have had Redknapp back.
Having read a number of West Ham historical books and being 40 tomorrow, Bonds is still nothing but a hero to me. Many names shine through, Sir Trev being of godlike status. Dev bringing back memories of flowing football and Martin battling through anything and kicking a lump out of someone from time to time.
Redknapp is a cunt and nothing will change that for me.
An England team run by him will be even more 'Lampsey' and 'John Terry'syy (sorry for that but it escapes my brain what to call him other than cheating, potentially racist cunt) than it ever was and I will have an even bigger problem raising an ounce of give a tossness than I have recently.
Loathsome waste of oxygen.

I still think that Redknapp is far form a "shoe in" for England, as his press mates would have you believe. There are several things that could go against him yet!

Redknapp is vermin as far as I'm concerned.
I wouldn't piss down his throat if his guts were on fire.

Utter nonsense. I remember protests and leaflets handed out about getting rid of him.

Told southampton fans ,he would stay and get them back up and don't believe reports that he was going back to portsmoth - He went back
Told portsmouth fans he was not going to spurs as he loved it there and too far to travel every day- went to spurs
Told sky that he was not even thinking about england job - We will see

Re: Alvin Martin on TalkSport now.
Redknapp's public persona is that of a bit of a geezer who gets on with all his players, the non public side is that this not true as his very first signing as a manager has personally told me, BUT he is a really good manager.

That does not stop him being a complete cunt!!!

Di Canio has slightly dubious political heroes, but as a man you would trust him, this could not be said about Redknapp.

P.S. he was my nan's favourite player, but that does not stop him being a backstabber.

Not for me it's not. Much as I dislike Harry, I'd have to say he's delivered probably the best performing and most entertaining teams of recent years. Of course that comes at a cost in the long run.

And at the time there were few if any details over how Bonds left - just like we know nothing really about what happened when Redknapp left.

It appeared that Bonds had just had enough of football management at the time I seem to remember.

Re: Alvin Martin on TalkSport now.
Redknapp is a good, potentially great manager. Most of us aren't close enough to care what sort of bloke he is. We were getting better, winning some games, getting some interesting players - of course there weren't too many complaints.
