Depends which way you're going.
I always walk to East Ham because it's one further up the line. I need to go into London so I go EH because there will be space and I'll probably get a seat before the train gets to UP, the next one down.
If you are Essex-bound or heading away from London then go to Plaistow.

After the way I've cracked Millwall and Spurs skulls over the years, fellow fans usually part like the red sea for me to pass through. On my way to the ticket barriers, comrades pat me on the back and, by the time I get to the train, my hand has been shaken off by those in awe of my sheer masculinity.

Can you imagine what it would be like if the East Stand was ever redeveloped, as some of our supporters wish?

3 choices to avoid the queues:
1) walk to plaistow or east ham. I usually take the latter 2) have a beer after the game 3) leave early

In answer to your question, you shouldn't do it because it makes you a bit of a wanker.

I usually walked straight to the pub and had a few beers until the queue dies down .
Then get off at barking and get a few more beers til the train arrived then I would stagger home

I always walk to Plaistow too.
Someone mentioned going to East Ham and therefore getting a seat... is it the same distance walking to East Ham or further than Plaistow?

I never queue, I just walk straight in and flash my Freedom Pass.
It's great being an old git sometimes.
