Memories of Frank Lampard (the one with the beard)
I watched a lot of games with Frank Senior. Words like consistent, reliable and solid come to mind, though he didn't get forward that much and was occasionally reckless. Nevertheless he did get one English cap??? I think, However he seems to be a bit of an over looked ex-player. How do people rate him with our other full backs over the years. Is he underated?

I was in his company on occasions at the Room At The Top, quite a nice quiet fella.

Good steady player.

The Newham Recorder used to give the line ups and a match report for each of the SE counties divisions the seniors and juniors.

I used to deliver paraffin to his bungalow in Gidea Park of a Saturday morning. He recognised me from when I used to deliver milk to the training ground a year or so earlier.

Junior really was junior toddling about the conservatory interested in what was in the big tins that was making all that that interesting splashing sound. Think that was just after he moved to Chelsea.

It was a bottle of Biddle and Gingell Dandelion and Burdock.

There was no need to spy back then as they put the SE Counties details in the match programme.

I remember seeing Hugh there. I thought it was the Milky Bar Kid at first but then recognised Hugh by his Twinhammer badge.

I concur with HM.

He was definitely standing with TH1's dad.

And it was Keith Miller.

Keith was out of the Youth team and deputising for MOORo,
He only played a few games for us,he left sometime later and had a long career with Bournemouth I think

Did you hear it in New Zealand?

Hugh Monteith 5:59 Thu Feb 23
Re: Memories of Frank Lampard (the one with the beard)
As I said it was not Frank it was Keith.

I always describe the sound aslike a giant clapping his hands once,
The sound was louder than the roar of the 30,000 people and was followed by a hush. all sound seemed to be sucked into a vacuum of silence,

it was truely a sickening sound and experience

Keddy

It was the kind of sound you hear when you step on a very dry twig.I was about 10 at the time and i remember asing my old man what had happened. Was probably he first time i ralised there was more to football than scorng goals and singing 'Bubbles'.
