Meet him outside Sardinas ground before the Ireland game 90 WC with a few other hammers. Norwich hammer who post on here was there as well
He gave us time even with he's radio commitment to take photos etc.
Absolute Gentlemen and West Hams greatest

The reason I support West Ham and I think about him regularly.
I just wish some of today's top players had his class - personal and professionally.

Whether it was a punch or Bobby using the back of his hand, older fans I have spoken to said it was a unique thing that no other captain had done and none since. He was a one off,and a simply great captain. Apparently this all happened when a member of the Leytonstone Silver band played the post horn Gallup on the French horn, but perhaps someone can confirm that. VIVA BOBBY MOORE !!

With regard to him kicking or punching the ball when he lead the team out.
I recall this being Sir Bobby God hitting the ball in the air by using the back of his hand.
Of course old age and all that I could be wrong but interested if anyone else remembers that?

I wandered into a local (i.e. non-ferang, non sports, locals) bar in Bangkok the other day and there was a big, fuck-off copy of that picture over the bar.
When I eventually got to talk to the (Thai) manager, I asked him why it was there. He just said "It's Bobby Moore," as if it needed no explanation (which it doesn't).
Very rarely does such a simple a response leave me absolutely speechless but this young guy managed it with innocent aplomb. It could now be my favourite bar - ever.

Everyday i look at my picture of Pele and Bobby from the 1970 W/C. It was autographed by Pele and i have a Bobby autograph just above it. A scarf given me by our own Ted Fenton is hung over the frame. I pay my respects to the great man who mean't so much to so many of us.
RIP Bobby

Would be a fitting tribute to the great man and would make me a proud hammer as well!

I started this thread albeit a day early I saw him in the youth team and his first game against Man U he was without doubt the best player bar none that I have ever seen 'legend' is a word often used but he surely was one, space prevents me from saying all I want suffice to say once more RIP Bobby Moore your memories will live with me forever .

Many fond memories of the great man. His passing was at a far too young age. RIP Bobby.

The man who every future England captain will be judged against, hardly surprising that not one modern day footballer comes close.
Supreme player, captain and gentleman, we should be proud that Sir Bobby was one of us, the greatest Hammer bar none. I hope the seat on God's right-hand side is comfortable,
Bobby Moore OBE - Never to be forgotten.
