WHO help me live my life once again- what's the best unlimited broadband packages around? Not really bothered about phone lines and tv etc and can't get virgin tv here.
O2 broadband is coming up at £19.25 a month at present, can it be bettered?

But as mentioned, it really does depend what you mean by 'best', and what's most important to you.
Speed? Cheapness?

If you live in London, Sky's broadband is shit. You'll not get a speed of over about 12 megs at best.THe speed you get entirely depends on where you live. For instance, it's impossible for my mate to get over 5 megs in his location. (Near Turnpike Lane) I've got Virgin 20meg which usually clocks in at about 19.5, but it can occasionally be tempermental.
I'd probably go BT infinity if you only want broadband and speed is important.
If speed's not really important, go for Sky.

"Best" Broadband, if you really mean best, is from an Entanet reseller, like ADSL24 or Aquiss, but it will cost you.
If by "Best" you meant cheap then Sky or TalkTalk.

I've used Talk talk since October and have had no problems whatsoever.

I too advise against TalkTalk and I too speak from experience. Avoid them like the plague.
Plusnet are owned by BT. They aren't too bad, but they are not fantastic either. Acceptable is the best word to describe them.
BT's infinity (or FTTC as it's known) is OK. It simply means the connection uses existing copper wires to a cabinet in the street and from there it's fibre to the local exchange. However it is a bit on the expensive side. Worth considering.
Virgin is OK, but support is hot and miss.

O2 are bringing in nasty traffic shaping, but if you go with Be Unlimited, you avoid it for now

It's BT openzone - look at your available wireless networks, if you have BT openzone or btfon then I can get online. Best thing is I can share it with my tenants in London and split the cost.

Had looooooads of trouble with Sky. Then I got a new laptop, and its all hunky dorey know. In retrospect, despite everything, their customer service was superb. If yo ugo with them, blag one of their new routers out of them.
I would point out, however, that my internet has an annoying knack of going down overnight (any time from between 11pm and 5am). Wish I had the same problem with the missus, but that's another story.

BT openzone unlimited = £15 a month and can take it anywhere and no phone line needed.
Anyone use this and us it ok?

You can get broadband without a phone line if you get Virgin fibre optic. Sorted.

Nicey, take it you are using a dongle for your connection? take a look at 3. Without a phone line your not going to get a cheap deal or any less than what you are paying O2 at the moment.

Ah, so you don't have a phone line then.
Sky charge £11.26 a month for one, so still comes out cheaper when you add the £7.50 on top for their broadband. And it is truly unlimited, not one of those ones that says it is and then has a fair use policy

Darth the issue is still the phOneline though I guess. How much is a phone line these days? £15 a month?
So with all the broadband deals it is whatever they say plus the phone line cost so can you get broadband without a phone line?

No, not at all - you get Sky to act as your phone provider, which is free so long as you have a phone line of course, and then their broadband is £7.50
Or you can just get it for £12.50 and not have them act as your provider
You don't have to take TV it with them

The issue is the phone line, sky sounds good at £7.50 but by the time I add it all up what does it really cost? £40 a month for stuff I don't need?
The O2 one is £19.25 a month all in
