West Ham v Watford - Official Match Thread 1 -1
WEST HAM UNITED v WATFORD
npower CHAMPIONSHIP
WEDNESDAY 7 MARCH 2012
KICK-OFF: 7.45PM

• West Ham United play host to Watford on Wednesday night looking to reclaim top-spot in the npower Championship table. First-placed Southampton drew at home to Ipswich Town on Tuesday night, which means the Hammers can go one point clear with a win.
The Hammers go into Wednesday night's game having not lost at home since the beginning of December when Burnley snatched a 2-1 win.

• Watford secured a vital 3-2 win on Saturday afternoon, after coming back from 2-0 at home to Burnley. The result helped put daylight between them and the relegation zone. The win against Burnley was Watford's first win in the npower Championship in three games having suffered heavy defeats against Crystal Palace and Southampton in recent weeks.

TEAM NEWS
WEST HAM

• Manager Sam Allardyce will have a strong squad to choose from on Wednesday with midfielder Matthew Taylor back from suspension after his red card against Southampton. Allardyce is also hoping to welcome back Julien Faubert and Winston Reid who missed the Hammers trip to Cardiff with a virus and head injury respectively.

WATFORD

• Watford will be without long-term injury victims Stephen Taylor and Martin McGinn for the game.
Ross Jenkins is also out with a groin strain, while Gavin Massey is struggling with a tooth infection.

SKY BET

• WEST HAM 8/15
• Draw 3/1
• WATFORD 11/2

REFEREE

• Wednesday's referee is Keith Stroud. This will be Stroud's fourth game in charge of The Hammers this season.

I agree with those embarrassed about the 'supporters' last night. It was cringe worther to hear sections of the crowd get on the team's back after 25 minutes. I'm certain large sections of the crowd just go to games to have a moan.

Cole is a case in point. We all know he's a player with limited ability and confidence issues, so the numbskulls should realise scapegoating him and cunting him off for every little thing he doesn't do right will only perpetuate his poor display.

Whatever happened to getting behind your team in the face of adversity?

So many wankers at the Boleyn these days.

Last night is the most embarrassed I have ever been supporting West Ham United. Away from home our support has been top notch all season, we've got behind the team and sung our hearts out win lose or draw. At Upton Park though we are genuinely a disgrace!

I feel like I'm surrounded by absolute morons in the BML (which used to be the liveliest stand)... 70% of them genuinely believe we have the god given right to turn up and turn teams over 4 or 5-0 every week. They moan and winge at every opportunity, they boo at HT, boo when we make a sub and boo at the final whistle, it's such an embarrassment.

I'm talking about the same fickle wankers that cunt off Calton Cole and then sing his name after he scores.

The days where we could turn around to Yids, Chelsea and Arsenal supporters and be able to brag about how good and vocal our support is are gone, because now we are just as bad.

I thought Sam got his tactics wrong .
Most of Watford's side were 6 ft plus and yet again we were trying to hoof the ball up or cross in from the wings.
It was like ping pong how quickly the ball came back out. again.
The most effective was when we played down the middle and tassing between players to feet.
In truth Watford had sussed us out.
Faubert did not look fit and I thought Lansbury should have started and was suprised Collinson was not even on the bench. He could have been a useful substitute. .
I also feel when Taylor plays it seems to inhibit Novble's game.
The smallest people of the pitch being the officials including "Frodo" -bless him fo acknowledging the crowd.
I wondered if their view of the game could have been impared....

Well at least last night we played better than we did against Palace.

Last night we were clearly the better side but did not turn our possession into goals.

Against Palace the play was more or less 50/50 and with a bit of luck Palace might have edged it.

To set the team up as if we were playing away would have enraged the fans but clearly the 442 ish set up we are using at home against teams with a packed and determined midfield is not working to good effect.

Very frustrating to watch that last night. Our passing seemed a bit slower than it has been of late,in fact the whole tea, laboured i think its fair too say.
My take on individual players
Green-waved to the fans
O'Brien-average
McCartney-average
Tomkins&Faye both played well
Faubert-a stinker
Taylor-game seemed to pass him by after his first minute shot
Nolan-was Nolan
Noble-looked tired
Cole-won some headers&played a decent reverse pass to Noble but i have too say he was not very good at all.
Maynard-a new player trying to settle into a team
Subs
Lansbury played a couple of nice balls
Vaz Te-made a difference when he came on
Baldock-wasn't given much too work with

FANS-ABSOLUTE CUNTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSSSS

People pay their money so they can do what they like. We've drawn at home to Watford, so I think people are perfectly entitled to have a moan if they want?

Re: West Ham v Watford - Official Match Thread 1 -1
Because most of the teams that we have beaten have been even worse than us in a very poor league. How many times have we played well this season? Could probably count on one hand. Our performances levels this season have been nowhere near good enough. How many times has green saved us? We can't pass well, forwards that don't know where the goal is, crap formations, long ball etc. Bottom line we do NOT look anything like a good football team, if you honestly believe that we do then fair enough that is your opinion, but I know what I see, read and hear myself.
