Yep our captain is worth 50k a week for 5 yrs and a £5m fee and a player that has made more appearances in court than on a football pitch is worth £1m and 12k a week.
And yet we keep being told the club is going to the wall if we don't make cuts.
You tell me how much value nolans 50k a week and £5m fee is in the premierleague when he will be a year older, a year slower and a year fatter.

I agree. Great signing. You really cannot fault our transfer dealings this year. Current top players from the football league - Baldock, Maynard, Vaz Te. Experienced high level players - Carew, Diop, Faye, Demel. Good, proven Premier League players of a good age who are up for a fight - Taylor, Nolan, McCartney. And the exciting wildcard that is Ravel Morrison.
I can fault Carew, Demel, Nolan and don't believe Maynard or Morrison will make it. In fact I think Morrison is more of a deal between mates than anything to benefit west ham, a million quid and 12k a week for a player that has never kicked a ball in first team action. Might as well have signed Ronnie Walwork, David Healy and Luke Chadwick, all highly promising in the man u youth team.

Should fit in well as he has been at Stoke, they play the same bollocks style of football under that muppet Pulis as we do under BFS.

Unrelated but I didn't want to start a thread - how the fuck have Portsmouth signed someone? I know it's a months loan, but even so - surely they should be trying to shift everyone they can?

We have seemed to do better at times with Diop in & BFS may well think that someone (ie Tomkins) in that role is needed.
Normally when you are top (or near) your best team just picks itself.
We dont appear to be any closer to that and i'm sure the team thread has about 101 possible combinations.

Won the Championship in 2005 & 2007 with Sunderland.
That experience could be useful in a team of players that have won fuck all if it gets wobbly.

He has a good leap on him,
Was a bit short tempered and he used to be a rebellious type of geezer.
A bit short for a centre back, but he was a quick bugger in the old Sunderland youts team.
Also some queeries about his friends.
