I've been willing to give this guy a chance despite the negative views on him from most on here, but it's increasingly apparent this guy is a fraud.
All he does is give away stupid free kicks and gives the ball away. As other have said, if he doesn't score he's ineffective.
Our midfield is shocking with him and Noble in there. Collison outshone them both yesterday for me.
Isn't it time both Noble and Nolan were dropped?

you've hit the nail on the head. Lampard looks a luxury player for CFC doesn't tackle can't really head or compete but wow, his contribution with goals has been phenomenal. It is certainly appreciated by CFC and pretty much everyone except ...

after the chaos of the last few seasons we could easily have got relegated in this division.
I doubt that anyone here is old enuff to remember the last time we were in this division; did we romp away with the championship; alas no, we just about crept into the play offs; this time WH are a cert. unfortunately, soton and readings wheels have fallen off and, well you know the rest...
btw, at what pt do we start booing WH against Boro..BFS out, out, out goes the chant.

As far as I can tell, the problem for Nolan is that, to accommodate a 'goal-scoring midfielder' who does little else during the game, you need a tough defensive midifielder, some quality wide players and a pacey, box to box, hardworking but still relatively skillful midfielder too (at Chelsea, see Lampard, Makelele, Robben, Essien as an example).
We have none of these. Playing Nolan and Noble in the middle is akin to the Lampard/Gerrard England dilemma - you cant play both, especially when one of your wie players is collison (a sluggish central midfielder) and the otehr wide player is Taylor (great delivery, but no pace). Without Faubert or Vaz Te i nthe team, we have no threat to occupy any opposition players, and are far too easy to nullify

I watched lampard's performance recently and it was reminiscent of Nolan's. presumably this is why WH don't like Nolan.
