How do you now rate our chances of going up ?
IMHO its 50/50 now.
With 6 (or maybe 9) games to go, I don't think we'll catch Southampton or Reading, so its the play offs for us.
The only threat to us I see are Birmingham who have been a bit of a bogey side for us recently. Assuming we meet in the Play Offs, the winners of us v Brum will determine who goes up and that could go either way.

What say WHO ?

Evens.

I'm not sure we're as poor as some of you seem to think we are (little overreaction perhaps).

Then again I thought we'd catch up one of the top two after they drop points on Friday. As it is we seem determined not to put any pressure on them.

Actually, I don't remember many games/seasons/situations when West Ham have sat comfortably as "favourites".
It's not a role we're used to or have any idea how to make use of it. We're a backs to the wall team, curiously playing great when there's no reason to. I'm puzzled that so many of you think that we should have been performing like favourites throughout this season.

It's 50/50 but truthfully I don't think we should go up... we will get mashed next season..... get rid of the manager and start a fresh... BFS is not the man to take us forward

I still see it exactly the same as in my original post.
50/50, us or Brum

Re: How do you now rate our chances of going up ?
Where West Ham are concerned I'm the eternal optimist and clutch at all manner of straws. However, after today's result I'm now firmly resigned to the play-offs.

That said, at half-time, I thought we looked like a team who would lose limply in the play-off semis. At full-time, with the spirit shown in the second half comeback I changed my mind and thought that we are still a match for any team in that competition.

I'd still rather play Birmingham at Wembley in the final, where we have a better chance, than in a 2 legged play off, however. The memories of last season's league cup semis, particularly the away leg, are still too fresh and raw for my liking.

One of the reasons I think we'll win it no matter who we would play if we got there.

We would be the team nobody would want to play.

Look on the bright side. At least if we manage to make the play-off final, it won't be a home game.
It will be at Wembley, an away game!!!

Re: How do you now rate our chances of going up ?
My only worry in the play offs is the semi finals,I'd hate for us to choke at home.
If we can get through to Wembley I'd fancy us against anyone.

7 goals in 2 games shows we can score. All we need is for Reading to lose away at Brighton and against Southampton and we are then 3 points behind with a better GD and a game in hand. I've not given up hope of auto-promotion, but I think we will romp the play-offs.

I dont think it will work like that, teams will just be happy with a draw in the away game knowing we will bottle it at home. I can see penalties in the semi!

Still very good. Reading will not win another game this season and the Captain's 89th minute goal in our last home game will see us up. Stop worrying.

We will win away, it's just if we can show some bollocks at home and stop pussy footing around

Well now that we are all but consigned to the playoffs I would have to say not good.

I can't see us getting through the semi to be honest, at least the last time we had just scraped 6th and nicked it with some form at the right time.

Can't see it this time, I think the players have been thru so much this time I think they will come up short.

Still I've quite enjoyed my year in the Championship actually!

I dare say we will bottle it despite being the best team in the playoffs by a country mile.

Oh Allardyce, how I hate you.

Very unlikely, we will not get in the top two and Birmingham will go up from the play offs, they have the momentum.
