The first gig i went to was when i was 15...at the Nashville rooms west kensington in 1979,
The Selecter were supporting The Beat,..... fucking blinding
Any one else's first gig they went to..?

excluding watching my mates play, first band I saw who had a record out would've been the Chesterfields (I sort of tagged along with a group of mates for that one as the group weren't really my thing).
First gig I went out to see at my own behest was Butthole Surfers + Primal Scream + The Seers at the Brixton Academy, September 1988

I did get hammered with the band after though. Cerys certainly liked her tequila.
Only been to one proper gig. Seen loads of big name djs and people like prodigy and faithless at big clubs, global gathering and ibiza etc. more into big tunes and clubbing, even If I am 36 in 3 weeks

First live band was The Stranglers late 70's -cannot remember the venue - but the first artist I saw live was in the early 70's and it was Barry White at Victoria Palace. (sorry)

Soft Cell 10th Jan 1984 Hammersmith Palais. Their last show and no Tainted Love in sight. I was 15.

Not counting Jon and Vince at the Tonbridge Bus Depot (happy clappy Christian band in 1984 - I'm not counting it because they weren't really a band and I didn't actually see them as I was too busy making eye contact, chatting up, and snogging Tracey Purser - I had 'moves' when I was 14) then it's Simple Minds at Wembley Arena in 1986 - Shriekback were their support.

I went to the first Isle Of Wight festival but,being only 13 at the time,didn't really take it in...my parents were on holiday and my sister was left to babysit me for two weeks..she wanted to go to the festival so took me along,they never found out...first gig was the Hammersmith Odeon David Bowie Aladdin Sane concert in 1973...ah,those were the days £4 got you a top ticket!!
