This show was actually screened on the Saturday evening, not Sunday lunchtime as we all seem to remember it.
I'd forgotten this but it swapped with MOTD for the Saturday night slot for a few alternating seasons starting in 1980 (according to wiki).

Watched the Stoke game last week. Quite suprised that the team was boo'd off after a 1-1 draw.
I thought that only happened post 1996.

Observations.
Strange to see the fenced in fans, the short shorts, the goalie picking up back passes, the blasting of a free kick through the wall and the simple, unsophisticated tactics used back then.
