How much do you spend on your Weekly shop?

There are 6 of us in our house ranging from 40+ to preschool age and we spend about £150 a week on Groceries and household essentials like Bog Roll.
My Sister in Law has just popped over and said she spends nearly £200 a week and its just her and her daughter.
I thought we spent alot but now Im quite happy if thats the norm.
So what do you spend and for how many?

It seems odd to be commenting on a home economics thread after today's excitement.
I try to get 2 for 1 offers and raid the reduced shelves in an effort to get more for my money.
I begrudge paying nearly £1.50 for a litre of petrol and will be cycling the 25 mile round trip to work at least twice a week to save a tenner. (Which I also begrudge).
It saddens me that the Govt. (for whom I work) prattle on about getting more people into work when the labour market statistics show there are 2.7 million people out of work and 470,000 jobs.
Meanwhile people sit in front of Britain's Got Talent clapping like seals....

Everything is so bloody expensive these days. I had to pay £116 for 30g of baluga caviar the other day. Next week it's fish paste.

Bruuuuuno 4 pm - everytime I have bought something from MS nothing but trouble spent couple of grand on bedroom furniture - cunts kept us waiting 8 weeks ( when they said 4 weeks ) doors hung upside down ! ( and we paid extra for fitting - another 6 weeks before they graced us with their presence and then was late - another time brought an office chair 4 fucking months to deliver then it was broken another 2 months waiting , excuses excuses, just gave them major shit till they caved in .
Agree that people who take this piss re old clothes but generally I found them a complete bunch of twats - sorry but I don't normally get the hump but they really pissed me off

when i bust my leg in 1995 if i just lived on mince and spuds 10 quid was enough for a week

When me and the Missus first got together we got by on 15 quid a week for food, lekky and water...How times have changed

simliar here,
I find it infinitely depressing that you come away from the supermarket with a few bags with noting substantial in them and it comes to that much. Missus and I never buy any booze and very little meat because of the price, and it still costs a fortune.
I remember my student days where I could live off £15 a week,,,

About £100 a month on meats, and topping up the freezer. Than about £30 a week on fresh food, milk fruit etc etc

Me, the missus and a 17 month old daughter, get through about £55 - £80 a week.

Just me, usually about 25 - 30 quid a week, but have got by on a lot less when the evils of skintness demanded. Thank god I ain't got no poxy kids.

2 adults and 3 kids, £140-£150 a week, we do have 3 kids though so the booze bill is additional and also essential :-)

The Problem with m and s is because they have always been so accommodating customer service wise they get people trying to take the absolute piss. Like people sending back five year old trousers coz they have a hole in them. Source - my mate who uses to work in their cust services deprtmnent

A house of two adults no idea how much I spend on groceries as I tend to shop for what I need more frequently every day I would approximate that I spend less than a hundred a week.

I suppose I spend about 100 in one for standard stuff and 100 in another higher end place.

4 adults inclusive of 1 oap and 1 18 year old ( no link ) plus Mutt ave 160- 180 per week
