You've also got to factor in that the media absolutely love (LOVE) ANY Liverpool FC related story, so they must take a large portion of the blame for this farce continuing.
If the media were to drop their collective belief that Liverpool (still) are a big club - no doubt they WERE when many of those in the media were in their formative years, but that's no reason to carry that particular comfort blanket over into your adult, professional life - stories like this would then only get Ibrox/Bradford like coverage.
Bombard the media with e-mails/tweets/whatevers to tell them that you, as a paying customer, are completely pissed off with the disproportionate coverage this gets and when they counter with an "it's an important event and we must report it" bollocks, which they inevitably will, ask them to show how it's (still) important and to what percentage of their viewers/readers/listeners.
They won't be able to; it's only important insofar as it attracts viewers/readers/listeners/hits - and that's just the thing - the ONLY thing - their paymasters, the advertisers care about.
In that respect Liverpool ARE genuine victims - but not for a long-distant tragedy; they're the victims of financial exploitation of that tragedy being used to line the pockets of the business owners who use the media to promote their wares.

I'm not really up to speed on this, but am assuming Liverpool have moved their semi forward a day while Chelsea-Spurs semi has been put back a day.........giving Chelsea a day's less rest before the Barca game.
If so, should not have been allowed. Leave the London semi at Wembley on 14th and move the Liverpool semi to Goodison Park on the same day, with Everton getting their full Wembley ticket allocation before any are sold to Liverpool supporters. They'll soon want to play on the 15th then.

It's widely acknowledged that many fans turned up without tickets.
The simple fact is if they hadn't and only ticket holding fans were there it wouldn't have happened.
Yes the police fucked up big time, but the liverpool fans have to accept some part in this

Absolutely spot on!
The Hillsborough disaster resulted from several factors.
Liverpool fans turning up en masse without tickets
The old bill making disastrous decisions
The fencing preventing large numbers of spectators from escaping onto the pitch.
I know that in those days fans from other clubs would sometimes arrive without tickets and try to use their numbers to surge into the ground. The thing is, on most of those occasions, that action didn't result in a major disaster. The fact that it did at Hillsborough means that the Liverpool fans who did turn up ticketless must shoulder a lot of the blame -rather than search for "justice", as if none of it is their fault.

The saddest thing about Hillsborough is that the counterfeiting of tickets would still have gone on at all their big games since, even if it was still terracing with fencing, it wouldn't have stopped
them from repeating the same tragedy, all they've done, because this is not possible on a large scale like back then, is moved onto nicking tickets off kids amongst their own support.
They know this deep down, that's why they always push the old scouse humour angle.

liverpool have completely hijacked this w/e.
First they demand not to play on sunday, then they demand a minutes silence the day before the game- of course they had a minutes silence for the league match last w/e.
just like they fucked up europe for all of us, and ushered in the era of all seaters
tragedy tho it was, get the fuck over over it, please.

This "we don't play on april 15th" thing is bollocks. If they don't play on april the15th then they wont mind forfeiting the match. Like those christian athletes who won't compete on a Sunday.
But they do compete in matches scheduled for april the 15th. They just move them.

The Hillsborough disaster was a combination of factors, but South Yorkshire police have got to take the majority of the blame, not opening the gates onto the pitch was a terrible mistake. Having said that they were to blame for the Heysel disaster, but that seems to be forgotten. Also what about throwing bricks at that ambulance taking a Man Utd player to hospital after a serious injury? (Alright it was Alan Smith but still)

the thing that fucking annoys me is that these people are a roadblock in getting the legislation passed for safe standing.
If you dont want safe standing in liverpool, dont have it. We shouldnt have to go without it just because you cant trust yourselves to behave.

Exactly Danny... I had two mates there that day one Forest and one Scouse... the amount of tickets for a fiver (obviously forged) that they were offered in the pub... now I am not saying that ticketless Hammers would not of had some... but I think by now we would have put our hands up and taken the blame... at least I like to think we would

I don't think i've seen one person from liverpool admit that some turned up with forged tickets and without tickets and were part of the problem.
They have done this constantly at major games.
