BFS should stop crowing about the away wins record.
|
|
In fact, he should be bloody embarrassed about it. The previous record of 11 wins was jointly held from the 1958 and 81 seasons, where, of course, we went up as champions each time. He should be fucking embarrassed that our terrible home form means we're not automatically going up this season. His sheer inability and lack of tactical nous to break teams down at home is the reason we're going into the play-offs. Then again, we all know how much BFS loves wanking over statistics, so it shouldn't be much of a shock that he can't see how this one highlights his tactical limitations.

That's a good analogy. Our league is desperately weak this season. If it weren't for the dross already kicking around the basement area of the Premiership, and the fact that there's more than three of them, I'd probably lump on the three that come up to come straight back down. Obviously not if we go up though because that'd be quite a cunty thing to do.

At least that would be doing things the "West Ham way" Bank.
Relegated with the most points, get into the playoffs with the most points...
Classic West Ham, that.

Comma this stat would just about sum up West Ham's fortunes "we could end up with the record number of points for a play-off team."
It's going to happen, we all know it

To me when one premiership team, that has notably failed in both european competitions, only has competition from a similarly failed european campaign team it is an indicator of a weak premeirship overall.
However the championship race looks as strong as last season's when Swansea finished third with 80 points missing the second team by 4 points.
Swansea then beat reading to go up.
Reading are not a flash in the pan this season so much as a good team that took time to regain its composure.

Manchester United are on course for a record points total in the Premier League, that doesn't mean its been a strong Premier League.
Conversely, its widely regarded as being the least good for some time.

In that case I look forward to the Boys of 'record number of points for a play-off team' reunions in 20 years time.

If we are being asked to put our home record into context bear in mind that just three teams have so far lost fewer home games than us. Reading have lost four at home like we have.
It's drawing at home that is our issue along with only taking one out of a possible twelve points from the top two.
Also we are not third in a bad season but in a good season and could end up with the record number of points for a play-off team.

You have to big it up somewwhere. If you say we are fucking shit and an embarassment at home - that would be really good for morale wouldn't it. I do agree the facts don't lie that we have been dire at home but confidence has to come from somewhere.....

BFS crowing about his away wins, is like a dentist in a 2 dentist town admiring his own teeth, but wishing the other dentist's were as tidy.

If we get to the final, we'll be away so it should be fine.
However, we would have a home game to avoid going completely TITS up first. Therein lies the BIG problem.

The play off semi doesn't worry me as much as if we get to the final. We should finish third, This will mean we play away first. An away win will mean whoever comes to us will have to win.
So we can set up at home as we do away and we should be ok.
Then we have the final where we'll be so negative. Fear will be installed into the team about not conceding, we must get a clean sheet wil be the mantra. Nothing about going forward and scoring.

12 away wins is an achievement, as is the way we have played teams off the park away.
He'd get more respect though, for facing up to the home form publically. In these parts we say it like it is.

Getting 12 away wins and still being 6 points of an automatic spot just highlights even more how shit we have been at home.
Reading have won 12 away from home as well but I doubt there manager will be bigging himself up about it.

FFS the next 4 games are irrelevant - we are in the playoffs now - SMELL THE COFFEE people.
What matters is if BFS goes for a home win PROPERLY in the play off semi - THATS the important game. And if we treat the final like an away game who knows.
PS BFS is thick as pigshit

i think we should channel our frustration with him into getting behind the players for the next 4 or 7 games....they need us now regardless of how they play for every minute
if fat man fails then chant what we want at wembley or wherever at the final whistle of the season is blown albeit home to hull after a win with the play offs next?
we need to shift the doom and gloom
