Positives of staying down
|
|
Loads of London derbies next season; Millwall, Palace, Charlton, Watford (sort of), possibly QPR, maybe even Brentford!
Possible new manager/new style of football.
Finally get to play Sheffield Utd again.
More cheap ticket deals.
Less likely to move to Olympic Stadium.
Any more?

Whatever KIA, but there is a problem imho, the fact they got outside help in would seem to imply that?

I'm not, it's my opinion & feeling based on the injury league tables on Physio Room last 4/5 years, the amount of injuries we pick up & Zola's comments.

You mention it quite a lot but never back it up with proof.
Is the training ground old? - Yes
Could it do with rebuildings? - Yes
Is it the cause of injuries? - Unproven
Do we have more injuries due to our training ground than other teams do because of theirs? - Unproven.
If you want to believe that then that's fine, but let's not pretend it's based on any kind of proven fact

I'm not knicker wetting at all, just pointing out something I feel has hindered us last few years.

"Less likely to move to Olympic Stadium."
Speak for yourself mate. Not a positive AFAIAC.
I want to move to the OS. Fed up with travelling to a run down ground in a shitty run down area like Upton Park, with shit transport links.
Properly set up the OS will be good for the club.
My Opinion of course.

Can't disagree with KIA - i just think if he was a bit braver he could have used a couple a bit more in games. Certainly think the 5 sub rule hasn't helped.
Brentford - Change your knickers, all clubs get injuries, I don't see ours as any better or any worse.

I think it's always difficult to bring in youth players when they have not had a taste of first team football, it something previous managers made sure of, Carrick, Defoe, Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Noble, all players that done their bit on loan. Sadly in recent times before BFS our managers didn't seem to interested in sending them out and not BFS has done that, he got games into plenty of them and first team experience, both on and off the pitch. For me that's important and stands them in far better stead for next season as a result.

P whether they happen during games or training is besides the point surely? If you have shit training facilities it will affect the players fitness and therefore potential for injury, no?

Baldock has been given chances, ERNIE. He's played in more than half of our games this season.
Forget that fact he's sometimes played no the wing. Recently he's had chances in positions where a striker should be, i.e. one on ones.
I said earlier that they'll be a few breakdowns if he leaves as some see him as a legend already. He's a young player with potential, that's it. He's not a proven goalscorer yet like you suggest.
If he does decide to improve his attitude and wants to stay, I still expect the proven Maynard to start ahead of him, with him still on the bench.
However, if he had that attitude, then I wouldn't lose any sleep if he was dropped totally and Hall was on the bench.

Don't think he'll walk if we don't go up. He may be fed up with all the criticism though & walk because of that.
Though instant promotion was required, I get the feeling G&S & BFS were prepared to give it 2 seasons, even with our money & squad there was a lot of rebuilding to be done, many point to QPR, Norwich, Swansea, S'oton & Reading as examples of how it should be done but they've all had longer than a season to get their act. together.

I'd like to see STATS on our injuries compared to other teams.
Also how many occur on the much maligned training facilities.

There may be the odd ting that is 'good' about this division but isn't the point of all sport to compete at the highest possible level you can?
I'd find it a bit weird if we, as fans, were happy to accept playing anywhere other than the top division. Plus, like it or not, more money in = better players = more of a chance of nicking a cup and having some glory..... Shirley?!
Also, just for the record it is divine, not devine.

i think he'll walk too, but if not I think he could well be sacked. He doesn't have the full backing of both chairman.
As for the 4-4-2 i don't think he particularly wants to play it but that isn't something i'm too bothered about. I find the 4-2-3-1 is a more attacking formation anyway.
I know he has taken a keen interest in the youth team, I just feel that he has been far too cautious with his use of them this season. Perhaps if forced due to spending power he might be more likely too.
