Last horse to do the barney rubble was Golden Miller in 34... different kind of horse then... more sturdy and tank like then comapred to the speed machines now... just like the same as we will probably never see a triple crown winner either here or in the US again... totally different type of horses...
When they raced the Topham yesterday on the National course the ground was good to soft... nice and sticky ... looked a hell of a lot safer yesterday when they was going round... it's not the size of teh fences that are doing the horses in it's teh speed at which they are hitting them

People fail to understand that these animals are born to run and jump,they love it.
i love animals(barring cats)and have a one year old German Sorthaired Pointer who has it in him to hunt and run,
The vast majority of owners of racehorses are genuine animal lovers and not in it for the money

L'Escargot was a great horse who won the gold cup, and also beat Red Rum to win the grand national. dont know if it was the same year though.
