Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Just finished The Killing liked it a lot but not really the last season as much.

Breaking Bad, Homeland done

Was going to do Luther or The Wire next - can you tell me which one is best of the two?

Being watching The Law According to Lidia Poët on Netflix. Nice fun but mainly to see the incredibly beautiful Matilda de Angelis from The Undoing again. And yes she does get her fantastic norks out again

Agreed Jaan, the second games story was absolutely dogshit and I didn't like what it forced you to control halfway through.

Picard is the best thing on tele at the moment. Love it so much.

The last of us was good because of the production levels of any HBO series, but not as good as the game.

As said, the infected were barely shown as a threat for the most part, and it became more about the struggles between those not infected.

Enjoyable but overhyped. Hopefully they balance it out better in the second season as the second games storyline was poor.

The last series of Snowfall is out. Probably gone a couple of series too long but still watchable.

Watched the last of us last night... thoroughly enjoyed as did most of the episodes... never played the game ... as I have kissed a girl... so have nothing to judge it against but anyway thought it was excellent.

Percy… the Ken Burns one?? Yes it’s very good… if you like that he done an earlier one on the American Civil War which was just as good… both push very close the World at War as best in depth historical docs for me.

Scum. While people are happy to pay for it. Disney are more than happy to churn it out. Only when the money gets tight. The shit get's real.!

Just watched the latest episode of The Mandalorian

Good to see him come unstuck and get saved time and again by a women.

Disney really do hate men. But instead of writing strong female character series, would rather run down ones about men.

I guess if you'd spent most of your life flicking buttons on a playstation and wanking off about how good the games are then I guess you might be disappointed in the Last of us.

Thankfully, never been remotely interested kiddie games on these machines, so the series actually worked very well for me and the strength of the characters was developed and acted equally well. A bit slow in places but I like that as it give the series room to breathe. Also, each episode didn't feel like I'd just reached another level of the game and it being all about the flower power zombies all the time.

All in all I reckon it was very good and worthy of another season. (just don't let it go on beyond its sell by date like the Walking Dead)

Well the finale of The Last Of Us didn’t disappoint. It was just as fucking shit as all the rest of it, barring episode 3 and most of episode 1.

Joel’s character assassination ran so deep they couldn’t even bear to make him not look and act like a weird, stunted cunt and frankly quite the villain in the hospital bit. None of the superb ambiguity of the game. I guess that’s all missing anyway from the emotion of the viewer seen as they didn’t bother trying to tell the story between them faithfully at all. They even subtlely altered the giraffe bit to make him look like a goon. Would it really have hurt to have just had THAT bit play out authentically?

What an absolute disappointment all round and subversion of a fabulous game and story.

And Feed Me Chicken- spot on. She’s shit. Not sure if it was the actress or the writing or a combo that made Ellie so unlikeable.

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Watched it more out of intrigue than anything else, want a massive fan, pacing well off, Bella is a bad Ellie, barely any infected and too much virtue signalling

Not sure how I missed it the first time but just finished Early Doors.

Absolutely brilliant, fuck knows how more episodes weren't commissioned going by some of the utter shit that is still going.

zico

I just burned through it all this evening. God, it's hard witnessing the grief of the relatives, still red raw after all these years. There were some right numpties - that daft Jeff and his "Russian operatives dun it to draw media attention away from their invasion of Crimea" - what a dope. And that sad, grieving Frenchman who believes it was all caused and covered up by the Anglophone nations. The most interesting things that French journalist Florence said were actually minor details in her overall theory - the fact that the US was conducting large-scale military operations in the South China Sea area (I hadn't known that before) and that the bit of wing flap that was found by dodgy Johnny-on-the-spot Blain, had its serial number plate missing, much in the manner of planes that have been decommissioned and scrapped. I reckon I could concoct a more believable conspiracy theory than that lot, given the info in the documentary.

Gaffer,

I've watched the first two and will continue with it. I'd say it's a 7/10.

Finished the first 8 episodes of 1923 and it get's better as it goes along.

Westerns seem the be the new rock 'n roll.
