Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Just finished The Killing liked it a lot but not really the last season as much.

Breaking Bad, Homeland done

Was going to do Luther or The Wire next - can you tell me which one is best of the two?

On a lighter note from the Gamoras and Ozarks, for comedy Schitt's Creek is quite fun.

I think it's hard to follow the golden age of BB, SOA, Banshee, Dexter, The Soparanos etc.

Cheers lad. I thought the first season was brilliant. I didn’t even know they were making a second one.

Have you seen Yellowstone? I reckon it's right up your street.

Montana
Cowboys
Horses

The only thing it doesn't have is dogs for you.

Both Ozark & Gomorrah are excellent but the fact the writer of one gets to spend his life in protection tells you its own added story.......

Watched some Gomorrah and it's good but nowhere as good as Ozark. "Doing business with Rednecks...lol"

Can't wait for season 4 coming up on 21/1.

NS, im not sure Gomorrah is the sort of show that you get that 'stop life' feeling about and im saying that as someone that loved it.

Its very dark and at time bleak so you dont get moments of comedic relief like you do in shows like the Wire/Sopranos/Succession/Breaking Bad and also with the subtitles it can be pretty hard work to watch more than 2 or 3 episodes in one sitting. That said stick with it as more and more characters come in to it that are worth persevering for, ultimately an equal amount of them leave through a variety of gruesome ends.

8 episodes in on series one of Gomorra... yeah it's good... is it the best thing I have ever seen?? No not at the moment but we are enjoying it... will probably watch a couple of episodes a night if nothing else is on so not getting to that 'stop life we need to watch this shit 24/7' like I have with other stuff... but it is deffo' watchable..

We started watching Gomorrah last night got through the first 3 episodes with subtitles and will watch it again tonight.
For those with Kodi we found very good streams with The Oath addon Yellowstone can also be found there.

I started watching the second series of Euphoria. It’s pretty good, but they do have an unhealthy obsession with showing cocks.

I think I'm going to have to give Gomorrah a go. I've seen it recommended here too many times.

Unfortunately I might have to watch it with dubbing, as I'll probably watch this last thing at night, and I found with Squid Games that I tended to nod off if I was having to read too much at that time of night.

Gomorrah is a masterpiece. I'm not gutted it's ended though, as it was the right time, can't go on forever, and now we are left with the legacy. For anyone who hasn't seen it, wtf are you doing??

Btw, the pressure is on for ted now, he can't really now come back and see he thinks it's shit :-)

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
I wish I could take the credit Ted, sometimes you see/watch/hear something that just evokes such emotions and Gomorrah certainly fits that bill. Their ability to make you genuinely care about anti-heroes who are just horrendous humans is a testament to the writing and acting.

Gonna go back and watch them all from the start again, always pick up so much more the second time round.

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Watched Gommorah since it started and excitedly awaited each season as they approached. Just finished the final season and wasn't disappointed, one of the best things I've ever seen, heart breaking, exhilarating, brutal and raw. The subtitles add to it as hearing the characters speak in Italian just adds to the authenticity of it, if it were dubbed I dont think I'd bother and it wouldn't be half the show it is.
Absolutely gutted that its over but what an ending, couldn't really finish any other way but that didn't stop it still being hugely emotional and moving when the curtain did finally come down, no spoilers as people really should watch this genius piece of television.
