I choose not to fantasize on this and will simply be the Irish African/Carib Viking Pirate that I in fact am.

*kisses teeth and cuts a slice of brown cheese with his cutlas to be sure*

'War' with France??

They'll fall on their backs with their legs akimbo as soon as we advance, as per.

I don't need the backing of a state. Actually, it would just slow me down. Red tape.

I only people I hate more than the Poles and the English are the French, and my best mate is very, very French.

So, as far as I'm concerned, invade and plunder away (though I wouldn't advocate this as any kind of state policy)!

At least I *like* the English.

I think we should invade France. I don't think they would see it coming. I've run out of reblochon and St Emilion.

I'm as much English as you are Nurse, and you bloody well know it.

Re: Boredom thread - would you rather be a pirate or a viking?
Just noticed this:

"The fascinating thing here of course is the extent to which this period has had an impact on our national culture. Seeing the Spaniard or the Frog as fair game might have been all well and good before the Empire, but is it at all appropriate still to do so after it? Surely we have moved on and learnt from our experiences"

What's with all this 'our' and 'we', sausage breath? :-)

Horlicks to the frogs and spics.
