Deal agreed for Stephen Hendrie - DUNDEAL
.... But then we decide not to turn up twice to complete the deal.

According to Hamilton's chairman.

It's as if the club is being run properly now...

Sounds like he's well made up, this is a big move for a player like him. Good luck, hope he does well and if not I can see a Watford or a Norwich giving us twice our money back, good business really.

This bloke is a punt and it's just the sort of player that AlexV has been alluding to. Get in comparatively cheaply and hopefully develop into a Premiership regular.

Re: Deal agreed for Stephen Hendrie - DUNDEAL
I like players to be excited about joining us and jumping at the chance.
Particularly in away games against bigger clubs I don't think two full backs who can defend and attack are a bad option on one or both sides.
Cresswell ahead of Hendrie or vice versa

Hendrie to join Hammers
Scotland U21 international left-back Stephen Hendrie will join West Ham United on 1 July

Scotland U21 international left-back Stephen Hendrie will join West Ham United in the summer after signing a pre-contract agreement with the Club.
The 20-year-old will move to the Hammers on 1 July from Scottish Premiership side Hamilton Academical, where he has been a first-team regular for the past four seasons, totalling 110 appearances.
From this summer, the defender will continue his development with West Ham and he cannot wait to get down to work in east London.
"I'm absolutely buzzing," Hendrie confirmed. "The last few days have been busy, but now that I'm down here and I've signed, I cannot wait to start in the summer.
"I'm thrilled to bits. I can't believe that it's happened. West Ham is such a massive club with a massive fan base and I just cannot wait to get started. I'm looking forward to it.
"I think the Premier League's the best league in the world and you want to play at the highest level you possibly can. Since I was a kid I always wanted to play in the Premier League and I've got a fantastic chance to do that now."
"I know that the atmosphere is electric at the Boleyn Ground. The fans are brilliant and we've moving to a bigger stadium and it'll be even better, so I'm looking forward to that too."
After joining the South Lanarkshire club as a schoolboy, Hendrie made his Hamilton debut at the age of 16 in a Scottish League Cup win at Queens Park in July 2011. Last season, he helped the Accies gain promotion back to the Scottish Premiership before making his Scotland U21 debut in September 2014.
The young defender is the latest Hamilton youth product to move south of the border in recent seasons, following the likes of Everton midfielder James McCarthy and Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur.
After completing the current season with Hamliton, Hendrie plans to catch the eye in a Claret and Blue shirt from the start of next term.
Stephen Hendrie
"I'm a full-back and I like to get forward," he explained. "Obviously the defensive duties come first, but I like to bomb up and down the wings and get crosses in.
"When the summer comes around I'll be working as hard as I can and see what happens. Every pre-season is crucial but having signed for West Ham it's going to be even more so. It's unbelievable. I just need to get as fit as I can and hopefully play some games. It's a good challenge, a new challenge and I'm just buzzing to get started."
Hendrie follows a long line of Scottish players to join the Hammers dating back to the Club's formative years as Thames Ironworks FC, when players were drawn from the large number of Scottish shipbuilders working there.
In more recent years, the likes of Ray Stewart, Frank McAvennie and Christian Dailly have all represented West Ham with honour, and the new boy is hoping to make a similarly positive impression.
"They're big names and everybody knows West Ham up there because of those boys," he confirmed. "They did extremely well here and everybody knows West Ham because of them and because of how big a club they are. The fan base is brilliant and so is everything else that goes with it."

Re: Deal agreed for Stephen Hendrie - DUNDEAL
Probably!

I wonder if they see one of them as a winger- or if Hendrie is two footed enough to play right back in case Jenkinson's not staying? (I have no idea if he is in any way two footed having never seen him play)

Guaranteed the cunt with fuck his knee up in the 90th minute of their final game of the season and render him out for 9 months. Put money on it.

Re: Deal agreed for Stephen Hendrie - DUNDEAL
Interesting to see what we do with him, seen as I've no idea if he's anywhere near first team ready.

backup/replacement (if sold for big money) for Cresswell?

Do we think he may play a different position for us, maybe?
