Black Mirror...
Filming apparently started on the Netflix backed new series.

12 new episodes.

First one has Gareth Keenan in it.

Have to say I thought this was some of the best, most original TV I've ever seen when I watched them.

Hard to choose a favourite...

Fifth, you're probably right. She still hasn't bothered with those zany zappers she got for her birthday...

Cholo

We're all so ####ing old.

I've still got all those books and gave them to my kids. They couldn't give a ##$#. Even the one that reads a lot wasn't interested.

Just found that Steve Jackson's Sorcery plus a lot of the FF books are available on Android.

No chance that kids will get into that sort of thing these days, surely?

I've just gone amazon and ordered one for my daughter that I remember reading when I was about ten. I'll have a go at it first, the only thing I remember other than the title was making a bad decision and falling down a cliff to my death, have to see if I can avoid that pitfall this time round.

Livingstons books had a better storyline, but Jackson's ones were far, far harder. One called Creature of Havoc took me ages to get through.

I remember those make your own decisions adventure books in the 80s, not sure if we're talking about the same authors, but they were good, very re-readable.

Bandersnatch was good fun to watch and interact.

I like Black Mirror - it stirs your consciousness and makes you think but in an entertaining way.

I used to cheat like no tomorrow with those books.

wish I'd kept them, the original artwork in them was superb. if I remember right, you needed two dice to play them. they still well them but have changed the drawings, I'm not sure if they'd appeal to youngsters now but I thought they really got the imagination working :.)

Miike - I just found a bunch of those books in my attic. Forgot I had them but as soon as I saw them I had strong memories of reading them when I was a kid.

Forest of Doom and City of Thieves were my favourites.

not worth watching without the interaction, it goes full meta in a clever way that just wont work otherwise

So can I just watch Bandersnatch without doing all the interactive malarkey? The movie version is on Popcorn.

I grew up reading the Ian Livingston/Steve Jackson adventure books so was curious to watch this. for it to work, it needed a far better plot and I'm not sure if Brookes was making a comment about the illusion of choice, not dwelling on the past or attention deficit disorder but the speech by the character Colin when he talks about the game pacman, and being stuck in a maze is how you feel watching it. it briefly livens up towards the end but I'm not sure it was worth the bother. read one of those books instead
