Kodi XBMC
My Phoenix has somehow disappeared

When I say disappeared, the main title Phoenix is there but the sub title Phoenix under it has gone

Has anybody else seen this?

It's my main repo for watching streams, so I'm a bit gutted

Cheers

Re: Kodi XBMC
Best current Kodi build?

Also Best IPTV? - ideally as well as live with decent VoD and Android Box, tablet and if possible Iphone compatability?

Thanks Alan,

looks the one to go for. I know someone heading to NY this week but prices don't seem much cheaper.

An upgrade would be the best solution!

I wasn't expecting my sister's old Android 4.4.2 to work on v17 & wouldn't rely on it as a first choice but it does work & work well, though I don't know for how long. It's been going ok for about 3 weeks, to date

It might be worth checking that your box is still running on v17 & hasn't automatically updated to v17.6. Just a thought!

How much would a Nvidia Shield set me back?

Re: Kodi XBMC
I splashed out on an Nvidia Shield to run Kodi, and what a difference. It boots up in 2 seconds and a further 2 seconds to get into the Kodi build. Highly recommend them.

Alan ~
Yes I was really surprised myself!
I bought a spanking new box from Gearbest & gave my old box to my sister to replace her old Android 4.4.2 box (which I assumed could not handle v17 Krypton)
Then I came across the video on Youtube & followed the instructions (apart from installing AresWizard & Pulse obviously) just out of interest
The box performs incredibly well (& fast too!) against all the odds using the Titanium build. I've also got Youtube, Mobdro, LiveNetTVxyz & Showbox installed on it, which all work perfectly!
The only thing that is different is the Kodi icon is replaced my the MyGica icon
I've no idea what would happen if I tried to update to v17.6 (from v17.0) but why bother if it's working well?
No doubt, in time it'll expire!

Re: Kodi XBMC
Jack, you've done well if you've got it running OK on an Android 4.
I tried it on a mate's 4 and while it installed and ran (slowly) for a couple of weeks, it ended up running like an old dog, with films cutting out half-way through and the box constantly freezing. Couldn't be doing with that when shiny new ones are fairly cheap now.

happy Gilmore ~
You don't necessarily need a new box!
You can run Krypton v17 on Android 4.4.2 no problem. Look up the video on YouTube
(On the video here tells you to get the Pulse build from Ares Wizard but neither are any longer available!)
When you get to that bit, install the Supreme Builds Wizard
http://repo.supremebuilds.com then install the wizard
You can use any of those builds though I prefer Titanium, then modify the headings & add-ons to your own preferences
It definitely works well though the Kodi icon gets changed to the Geico icon

Kodi v17+ requires Android 5.0 or higher.
'fraid you'll have to stick with v16 or buy a new box.

Re: Kodi XBMC
cheers everyone. Jack, i can still look up stuff and can always manually put on extra add ons so youre probably right. I only use it for films or tv now so live stuff doesnt matter

Jack, as it only takes a couple of minutes to update Kodi you should do so.
Between v17 and 17.6 there are quite a lot of bug fixes including better crash protection and malware protection.

Mike ~

Updating from 17.3 to 17.6 doesn't make a scrap of difference using an Android box or tablet but I don't know about firestick

If everything's working ok I wouldn't be in any great hurry to update
In fact, I've got one very old Android box I was messing around with which is running absolutely perfectly on v17.0!

Re: Kodi XBMC
Finally switched over to a Firestick (with everything) best thing I ever did, got the lot and a piece of piss to use.
