My ex was from there too, in the north of the city they seem to see them as scouse but when you ask people from places like Anfield and Old Swan they turn their nose up and go on about purple bins and plazzy/jarg/wool etc.
Weird thing is I knew people from Runcorn and Runcorn before I had any idea about all this stuff and they always referred to themselves as scouse, but to anyone from Liverpool insinuating people from places like that are scousers gets the sort of reaction you'd expect if you were to tell them you raped their mother.
