Don't be too hard on yourself, Gavvy-Wavvy - we all have to learn from our mistakes somehow.

Sorry Russ - I missed out "reform of"

So Turkey has to progress to reform of pretty much everything political and institutional to meet the asking standards of EU membership. Failure to understand this is failure to understand both the EU and Turkey today as Gavros has pointed out.

Turkey's position gives it access to the rather large markets of the Middle East.

Having millions of poor Turks scrambling across Europe to parasite the country they can best ponce off (guess who) is a price big business is well prepared to pay for (easier/cheaper) access to such markets.

Cheeses - I think you make your position clear, that your agreement to one thing is contingent on something else happening, if that is the case. My understanding is that the EU understood the 'settlement' to be non contingent on what was or wasn't negotiated regarding trade. You either have a binding commitment or you don't. The EU's response - ie. to now require that everything is made legally binding - simply restates the position that they would have always believed to have been the case.

May and Davis are literally contorting themselves as they seek to appease the different factions they're dealing with. It's not particularly edifying. They need to really decide what their bottom line position is and stick to it regardless of the political fall out. Unless you know that going into a negotiation, you're a bit fucked.

also betrays a total lack of understanding of Turkey.

the country has gone so far backward since negotiations formally started (2005) they may as well apply again (1987).

That doesn't actually make sense. Please explain again.

Anyone who swallows the notion that Turkey will ever be an EU member without massive progress towards pretty much everything political and institutional betrays a total lack of understanding of the EU.

Fucking hell.

Fucking hell. And you tell me to keep up. You talk fucking shit.

And by the way I voted out.... Because I knew stuff like that 18 months ago. Keep up.

So what do we do then? Sign that and pike over 40 billion and then get no trade deal?

I thought nothing was agreed until everything was agreed?

David Davis is totally incompetent. In any normal time he would have been sacked immediately.

Regardless of your stance on Brexit, the idea that you would agree to something as the basis for proceeding, only to tear it up at a later point, is utterly childish. That's not what serious people and organisations do.

It is going to be binding now.

Well done David Davis. Thick as mince, lazy as a toad and vain as Narcissus seems ever more apt.

Yes Gavros but Turkey will be a member during your lifetime...

And they will soon have passport access to all the EU countries in Schengen without Visas...

Gavros 1:13 Tue Dec 12
Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
"Fuck sake Gavros! It shows that Turkey will enjoy EU access soon. maybe even a full member...."

So let me get this straight Willtell; you think that Turkish nationals getting visa free travel to the Schengen area is the same or very close to Turkey getting EU membership?

Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
It is true that the 'agreed statement' is not binding Gavros.

Who fucking cares what Verhofstadt Tweets? Only wankers trying to derail UK's negotiations with the EU...

Turkey's EU application has been frozen for years Willtell. Youre as bad as mashed the mong who said it was happening in 2016. It'll never happen.

The investment in westfield stratford, westfield shepheds bush and the new one in croydon has been going through planning for years. There's nothing new there.

Remarks by David Davis that Phase one deal last week not binding were unhelpful & undermines trust. EP text will now reflect this & insist agreement translated into legal text ASAP #Brexit
