Britain will vote on whether to remain in the EU on Thursday 23 June, Prime Minister David Cameron has said.

"Anyway, 0.25% will pretty much be curtains for this circus we call this government and with it what remains of the Tory's reputation as a steady hand with the economy."

Oh god, please shut up.

I agree with Harold. To a man and woman, everyone I know wants it significantly lowered.

Is the Polish govt conservative?

Mind you if labour do get in and screw the country, you’ll be sitting in Poland while the rest of us suffer. And not one ounce of shame will you feel.

I dare say a lot of immigrants, 1st or 2nd generation might be inclined to be favourable.

Willtell,
I wonder sometimes what sort of people these pollsters ask, because among those I know it's almost 100%, not 60%.

Seeing as we only have history to compare UK rates and their effect on the UK economy with then 'historically' is what we'll go with.

In other news, Pickled thinks companies make business investment decision based on morbid fear of 1 1/4 per cent interest rates.

Emergency ultra-low levels of rates have to end one day, unless the EU has manufactured a situation where we are in a perpetual emergency.

Could be.

Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
Interesting...

A new Ipsos-MORI poll has reinforced the fact that the overwhelming majority of the British public want levels of migration brought down.

37% of those asked said that they wanted migration “reduced a lot” with a further 23% saying they wanted numbers brought down “a little”.

Just 8% of people want to see any increase in levels of migration and 27% want things to remain as they are.

The 2015 poll showed much the same figures -
40% "immigration reduced a lot" 22% "a little" and 10% an increase.

And all because a few cunts wanted to keep their seats safe.

I suggest you have not the slightest idea what kind of margins companies operate. Not only do you expect sterling depreciation to keep UK exports profitable but you now claim 100 basis points is "nothing, basically".

Oh you said historically, so you weren't making a point about the economy or people's jobs or livelihoods today.

That's cleared that one up as well. You are an economic illiterate, Zero.

'Why not raise them 100 basis points'

Ooh! 'Basis points'. Hark at Pickled pretending he's a money market expert.

That's one (1) (ONE) percentage point to the rest of us. Leaving rates at a terrifying (yes, TERRIFYING) 1.25%. Or, historically speaking, nothing, basically.

Quite right.

Genus plan.

Why not raise them 100 basis points instead of just the 25 and have done with it?

We'll all be loaded.
