Swiss,
I'd hope most people would know where Coventry is. So what is your point?

I was all for us joining the EU (or whatever it was called then). However, I lost all respect for it when it 'persuaded' the Swedish and Irish governments to hold another referendum. Also, when the French and Dutch people rejected the proposed EU constitution, it was brought back ( with a few tweaks) as the Treaty of Lisbon. This time with no referendums for the people.

The EU and remainers are both thick skinned. You just don't get it, accept it we have already filed for divorce on irreconcilable differences. We're leaving because we didn't like THEIR rules and won't play by them anymore.

the court of arbitration in CETA is ICS, a newly established arbitration court. same shit, different name.

Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
CETA does not oblige Canada to pay into the EU budget, sign up to the bloc's four freedoms (such as free movement), or abide by European Court of Justice (ECJ) rulings.

Things can be achieved if you have the will to do so.

Gavros 1:01 Fri Feb 23
Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
If youre looking to join, you accept the ECJ as court of arbitration.

I really dont get how people think that in an international agreement, anyone would accept arbitration dictated wholly by one side.

You're obliged to replace your divots. Its a common practice by all but the most obnoxious golfers. You pay, you play by the rules. Paying doesn't excuse you.

It's silly being paranoid about how the EU will treat us in the future as a non member. It's up to us as a country to use our USPs to maximise our chances when striking new deals of trading. After all we are a big market for EU goods.

arsegrapes 12:58 Fri Feb 23
Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
Let's have right. The day they stop billing us for membership is the day we will start replacing our divots. Simples.

The big boys will leave if their populations and governments decide to do so. The EU will always have to attract the wealthiest members to their club and will most likely change the articles. Until that time the current articles and international rules will apply.

Gavros, I was talking from a point of view of being outside looking to join.

Will we be treated 'fairly' though: bearing in mind the EU big boys fear of others wanting to leave.

"nonsensical ECJ jurisdiction or currency adoption"

We didnt adopt the currency.

International agreements have courts of arbitration.

Hope that helps.
