Yeah, and?

Equally, YOU have been unable to present any case (except in your own mind) that membership of the EU benefits resident UK taxpayers.

So you can't present any case, whether formal or material, that the EU has prevented the UK to dredge rivers to prevent flooding.

Glad we've sorted that one out.

H&P,
You're convinced of nothing except your own beliefs. I offered a different opinion. Therefore you will never agree with it regardless.

So is the EU lying or not?

You're free to demonstrate it is.

I'm here to be convinced on the merit of the case you present.

H&P,

The EU commenting on EU laws. No conflict of interest there then.

The EU will always be a bucket of cunt, whoever spins it and however it's spun.

However the EU has said this:

Dredging

The EU’s Water Framework Directive has been the piece of EU legislation most criticised by certain media, on the basis that it “bans dredging”.

But that is incorrect – the Directive does not ban dredging.

Whether to dredge is a decision for Member States based on the local situation. The UK Environment Agency was widely reported as saying – in one case in the very same Daily Mail article alleging that the practice was “banned by Brussels” – that it had spent £21m on dredging over the last two years.

There have also been suggestions that the Waste Framework Directive forbids dredged sediment being spread elsewhere. Again, this is not true, unless the sediment is hazardous, for example if it contains heavy metals or other toxic substances. If so, it obviously needs to treated as what it is – hazardous waste. Otherwise, land and rivers would be poisoned, wildlife would die and human health could be endangered.

The expert consensus is that dredging is sometimes an effective measure. But sometimes it can make flooding and/or the damage it does worse. This depends on a whole series of circumstances, both natural and linked to the built environment.

Food banks are a sign of a wealthy and generous nation.

It's regular people having enough food to be able to give away and then choosing to do so.

A sign of real hardship and greed would be no food banks.

"The directive from the EU we took on as law in 2000 which pretty much means no dredging can take place in rivers."

Please point us to the relevant articles in the directive because for some reason it doesn't seem to have prevented any other EU member from keeping their rivers properly maintained.

Fuck me, it's the EU that have caused the flooding, not Boris, take it back Swinson!!

Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
H & P,

The directive from the EU we took on as law in 2000 which pretty much means no dredging can take place in rivers. Hence detriment in rivers that used to be removed, would mean in times of heavy rain and subsequent high river levels flooding would occur much less frequently. No dredging means higher water levels, so increased rainfall leads to flooding.

Yep it just shows what a sorry state Labour must be in under Corbyn to go to the opposition. As the easy route is to go anywhere else surely?

You’re not trying to say this bloke has always been a Tory are you Chill? as that would be stupid. A long term opposition sleeper cell in a party political party? Hahahaha!

.....you responded with this.....

ChillTheKeel 5:20 Fri Nov 8

That's EXACTLY what I'm saying. His voting record alone reeks of it.
But it's all a bit confusing to you isn't it, hence why all you can muster on this thread is the same coma-inducing rant, word for word, every fucking day.

You KUNT think there's a Tory sleeper cell........

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! etc! etc!

See how you mince about with things Kunt, you're not direct enough to be from a major city and you are always trying too hard to swap the truth that you are a no mark from a red neck place in the UK back onto to those that pull you up on this fact.

Lets also talk more about your theory on the Tory sleeper cell.... you ran away off here on Friday after getting pulled up on it, and seem too embarrassed to respond today, why is that?

Hahahahahaha! etc! etc!

Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
New Jetsey,

The EU Water Framework Directive that we adopted in 2000 also meant that we hardly dredge any rivers and waterways now.
